Our beloved Compton Station Sergeant Alfonso β€œAl” Lopez passed away on October 24, 2016, after suffering a medical emergency while on duty. He proudly served the Department for 26 years. During his career, he worked in Court Services, at East Los Angeles Station, and in the Special Victims Bureau. He was later promoted to sergeant and assigned to Compton Station.

As we take a moment to remember the amazing partner, friend, and family man he was, we also reflect on the incredible work he did in the communities he served.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones and partners today.

It is with great sadness that the Decatur Police Department shares the passing of Officer Rodney Olistin.

Officer Olistin served our community for 2 Β½ years as a patrol officer.   His friendship, dedication, and service to our community will certainly leave a void. He was a colleague and friend to many, within our department and throughout Decatur.  He is survived by his fiancΓ©e and their two children. Please keep them, as well as our department, in your thoughts and prayers, and respect the family's privacy during this difficult time.

Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood.πŸ™πŸ»

Sacramento has given zero orders to address it. As Attorney General, I have purview over every sheriff’s department in California, and I will give those orders.

Please, praying for the Aiken County Sheriff's deputy who was shot in the line of duty overnight.πŸ™πŸ» BREAKING OVERNIGHT: An Aiken County deputy was shot 3 times chasing someone who ran from a traffic stop. It happened around 11:30pm Wednesday on Shiloh Heights…
His name is Deputy Preston Metts. He's been with the Aiken County Sheriff's Office since February 2023.

Sheriff Marty Sawyer says Deputy Metts was shot after a traffic stop and foot chase around 11:30pm Wednesday on Shiloh Heights Road, and that he returned fire before calling for help. He's had two successful surgeries, with more ahead and a long recovery.

Per the sheriff, three people are now arrested:

Morris Laytrell Dorch, 39, picked up early Friday in Jacksonville, Florida, charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm during a violent crime and felon in possession. He'll be extradited. Sawyer pointed to his prior record and said he believes Dorch should have been behind bars.

Leviel Priester, 41, charged with accessory after the fact to attempted murder.

Teondra Coleman, 32, charged with misprision of a felony.

Sheriff Sawyer: "Violence against law enforcement and this agency will not be tolerated."

Keep praying for Deputy Metts. He's got a long road, and he's still fighting.πŸ™πŸ»
