Three people have been killed in the devastating California wildfires this week, as it's revealed the latest Getty Fire was sparked by a tree branch that fell on a power line. Homeless Santa Cruz woman Deseire Quintero, 55, was fatally crushed by a falling tree on Sunday. Fresno couple Edward and Iva Poulson were killed when a tree fell in vicious 30mph winds on their red Jeep in Bass Lake Monday night, leading their vehicle to veer off an embankment and hit more trees. Officials released dashcam footage of the moment that blaze first ignited around 1.30am Monday night on the west side of Sepulveda Pass, stressing the blaze was not the result of faulty equipment. On Wednesday thousands of people in the Getty Fire burn area remained evacuated as dry and sustained winds of up to 55mph beat the area and tested firefighters. At the moment the fire is just 15 percent contained. One firefighter was injured in the flames Tuesday night and about 18 buildings were reportedly destroyed, according to USA Today. 🔥

CCTV footage shows a white car driving across a narrow bridge in Madhya Pradesh, central India, before it collides with a red truck. The two vehicles smash into each other and the car veers off course before ramming into a bollard. A driver's head pokes out the window as he struggles to get one child out. He then stands on the bonnet as he throws his child towards the bridge. Locals who'd gathered to help attempted to catch his child, but missed by inches as the child bounced off the side of the bridge and fell back into the water. #facepalm

The Mexico government has released video of the moment Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán's son was detained outside his home in Culiacán, placed on his knees and told to call his brother and stop a counterattack by armed cartel members on soldiers around the city. Video of the failed arrest of drugs lord Ovidio Guzmán López was revealed by Mexico's Defense Secretary Luis Cresencio Sandoval on Wednesday. In the footage, Guzmán is shown surrounded by soldiers with one telling him to call his brother, Iván Archivaldo Guzmán, the leader of Los Chapitos wing of the Sinaloa Cartel, and tell him to stop the gun battle he launched in response to his brother's house being surrounded. 'Tell them to stop everything,' a soldier says as the sound of high-powered artillery rattles away in the background. 'Stop this, stop this. I already turned myself in,' Guzmán can be heard telling his brother on the phone.

Missouri police officers pooled their money together and bought costumes for children in need on Tuesday after finding out some students at a local elementary school couldn’t afford to get one for the school’s Halloween party. While working their midnight shift, several Wentzville police officers became aware that there was a need for costumes at Heritage Elementary School, department spokesman Jacob Schmidt told Fox News. Schmidt said Sgt. Marc White came across two Facebook posts from Heritage teachers stating that there were several students who weren’t going to be able to dress up for their class party on Thursday. In the post, the teachers asked for donations of gently-used or new costumes so that the children would be able to dress up and wouldn’t feel excluded. 🎃 happy #Halloween
