When will we see REAL CONSEQUENCES for these people ripping off our tax dollars? A Minnesota family operation stole $5.6 MILLION in money meant to feed children, and the prison sentences are starting to look like months instead of years.

Zamzam Jama admitted laundering $491,245 through a shell company connected to Brava Restaurant in Rochester.

That restaurant was supposedly serving 2,000 to 3,000 children EVERY DAY through the federal meal program.

Meanwhile, Zamzam used stolen child-nutrition money toward a house and a Toyota RAV4.

Her sentence was SIX MONTHS.

Then her relative Asha Jama was sentenced to six months after stealing roughly $450,000. Mustafa Jama later received just 14 months after laundering more than $1.4 MILLION. Altogether, authorities say the Jama family operation stole about $5.6 MILLION in money intended to feed children.

At some point, these sentences stop looking like deterrence and start looking like the cost of doing business.

BREAKING: Texas Sen. Lois Kolkhost joins a growing list of public officials opposing the use of Flock cameras, Rusty Surette reports.

“Our Bill of Rights stands as the foundational bedrock of our freedoms. Among those rights is the Fourth Amendment, enshrined to protect Americans from unreasonable searches and seizures by their government.

In today’s era of digital surveillance and powerful AI data centers, it’s an idea that matters even more than it did back when it was ratified. 

I believe the growing uproar over Flock cameras is born from the same fears that spawned the Fourth Amendment in 1791.  Instead of the British Empire, our modern world now faces another organized force, this time in the shape of powerful new technology that blurs the lines between public safety and civil liberties.

Flock's nationwide network of over 120,000 Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs) have been quietly assembled and sold as a modest tool for its subscribers to track stolen cars or missing persons.
But for those who remember the COVID lockdowns and the swift removal of our rights in the name of “public health and safety,”  the use of Flock cameras aims to be a frightening new web of warrantless mass surveillance.

Should we be alarmed that ALPR data can easily merge your vehicle plate with other aspects of your life?  That with AI it can build a profile that includes your financial accounts, health records, purchasing preferences, or religious affiliations?

What if the COVID-era push for “vaccine passports” had been enforced by Flock cameras linked to your medical record, and to your car’s newly mandated kill-switch?        

With so much power in ALPR technology, the risk of abuse is real.  One could reasonably think that we are only a pandemic away from ushering in a “social credit score” similar to the Chinese government, which can limit its citizens’ movements based on government approval.

Many Texans share my concern, including the City of Magnolia which recently announced that it will not renew its Flock camera contract.  Local actions will surely be joined with even more scrutiny in January, when the 90th Texas Legislature convenes. My colleagues in the Texas Senate are discussing an outright ban on ALPRs, and I am right there with them.      

The Americans who delivered the Bill Rights were an inspiration to the first Texans.  Both in 1776 and in 1836, brave souls (armed without a single cell phone or Facebook profile) decided that government's power is only legitimate with the consent of the governed.

Texans should have a reasonable expectation of privacy.  That means we must pull in the Constitutional reins on new technologies that can arbitrarily invade a person's life, home, or property.   My legislative actions on this issue will be founded in the Fourth Amendment.

And to those who see no risk in an unchecked and warrantless ALPR system, I will share the words of Samuel Adams, and wish for those chains to sit lightly on your wrists.”

A 14-year-old girl is accused of giving birth on the side of a road and leaving the infant to die in Monterey County, California.

Investigators named the deceased newborn “Baby Angelita."

Angelita's young mother is at-large and wanted on suspicion of murder. The murder suspect's father, Sergio Galvez Perez, is wanted on suspicion of incest and child sex crimes.

Investigators believe Perez is hiding out with his teen daughter.

Sheriff Nieto said, "Perez is the biological father of the 14-year-old murder suspect and the biological father of Baby Angelita.”

Nieto said, "I’m here to say to Sergio Galvez Perez: you need to turn yourself in."

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Retired Detective Gregory Mallette. Greg passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, following a brief battle with cancer.

Greg began his career with the San Gabriel Police Department on January 22, 1988. During nearly 37 years of dedicated service, he spent much of his career as a detective, serving in the Youth and Special Services Division and the Investigations Division. Greg also served several assignments as a Field Training Officer, helping prepare and mentor officers entrusted with carrying forward the Department’s commitment to serving the San Gabriel community.

Greg retired on December 27, 2024, leaving behind a distinguished legacy of service, experience, and dedication. His contributions to the Department and the community will not be forgotten.

Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood.🙏🏻

AN 18-YEAR-OLD IS DEAD, and Topeka police say the 23-year-old accused of killing him opened fire at an occupied home in a PREMEDITATED murder.

Officers found Joshua Stockman unresponsive shortly after midnight on August 23 after responding to gunfire on Southeast 23rd Street. Joshua was pronounced deceased at the scene before his adult life had really even begun.

Six days later, police arrested Erwin Tyrone Lockridge Jr. and booked him on allegations of intentional and premeditated first-degree murder and criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied dwelling.

Police have not publicly announced what they believe led to the shooting, but Lockridge is now being held on a $1.5 MILLION bond.

Joshua Stockman was only 18 years old, and his family deserves to know exactly why someone allegedly decided that his life should end that night.

On September 1, 1984, Reserve Sheriff’s Captain Beauford “Loyd” Brooks, 46, was killed while directing traffic on Highway 39, north of Azusa.

Captain Brooks was attempting to stop traffic so a helicopter could land and airlift two people who had been injured in an earlier vehicle rollover. As he stood on an unpaved pullout, a car driven by a 20-year-old Glendora man struck him. Brooks was rushed to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, where he died in surgery approximately three hours later.

Loyd Brooks demonstrated an extraordinary dedication to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and to his community. He began his service with the LASD in February 1971, following seven years as a reserve police officer with the City of Montebello. While assigned to the reserve company at East Los Angeles Station, he sometimes devoted more than 160 hours a month to his reserve duties.

Throughout his career, Brooks sustained numerous injuries while confronting combative suspects. His commitment to helping others extended well beyond his law-enforcement duties. As a member of the “Newton Boosters,” he played an important role in procuring food for as many as 4,000 families in need each Christmas. He also frequently purchased toys for children with his own money.

Captain Brooks was survived by his wife, Charlene; his daughters, Lori, 24, and Mitzi, 23; and his grandson, Cory Bruce.

His dedication to his department and his generosity toward those in need left a lasting legacy of service to others.

WE DON'T HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS. Gurmeet Singh came to America on a SIX-MONTH visitor visa, stayed after it expired, eventually got a green card, then r*ped and kidnapped a woman at knifepoint and STILL became a U.S. citizen five months later.

Singh arrived from India in 1992 as a temporary visitor and remained in the country after his visa expired. He eventually obtained permanent residency through a family petition in 2000.

Then in May 2011, while working as a cabdriver in New York, Singh attacked a female passenger who had fallen asleep in his cab. She woke up with him on top of her holding a knife to her throat before he bound, gagged, blindfolded and r*ped her.

Singh concealed the crime during his naturalization process and became an American citizen that October.

He was later convicted and sentenced to 20 years.

Now, FIFTEEN YEARS after the attack, a federal judge has finally stripped him of his citizenship.

He is due to leave prison in 2029, when DHS will decide whether to deport him.
