This could be one of the biggest blows to federal firearms regulation in decades.

A federal judge in Texas ruled that key provisions of the National Firearms Act can no longer be justified under Congress's taxing power after Congress eliminated the making and transfer taxes on silencers, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns and other covered firearms.

The reasoning is significant: if those provisions no longer generate tax revenue, the court ruled that the regulations cannot continue to stand on Congress's constitutional taxing authority. The permanent injunction is now in effect. But there is an IMPORTANT catch.

This is not a nationwide declaration that every NFA restriction has vanished. The injunction protects the plaintiffs and, where applicable, their members and customers. Other federal requirements and state laws may still apply. Gun owners and FFLs need to understand exactly what changed before acting on a headline.

OF COURSE IT'S THE DEMOCRATS: Two elected officials from the same area are now facing separate 11-count federal indictments alleging more than $2.2 MILLION in pandemic fraud.

State Rep. Francisco Paulino was arrested Wednesday after prosecutors accused him of fraudulently obtaining more than $700,000 in pandemic benefits and loans, including more than $44,000 in unemployment benefits allegedly collected using an unsuspecting 77-year-old relative's identity.

Lawrence Mayor Brian DePeña faces a separate 11-count indictment alleging he fraudulently obtained more than $1.5 MILLION in COVID business loans and used proceeds for campaign expenses, personal taxes and more than $880,000 in high-interest mortgages.

We've seen enough to know this isn't a coincidence. This kind of corruption is party-deep.

🚨 California desperately wants change and transparency when it comes their tax dollars being defrauded and wasted by corrupt politicians.

No more lack of accountability or billions of tax dollars lost and stolen. No more money-laundering schemes through NGOs, nonprofits, and fake healthcare providers under the name of “immigration support service providers.”

UPDATE: Two air traffic controllers left work early before the March accident at LaGuardia airport in which an Air Canada CRJ-900 crashed into a firetruck, the Federal Aviation Administration has determined, per Breaking Aviation News & Videos.

Their premature departure left the remaining personnel unable to deal with the workload, according to the Wall Street Journal. Both air traffic controllers face termination by the FAA.

Both the pilot and copilot were killed in the collision. Seventy-one people were hospitalized.

NEW: A Northern California school bus ride took a chaotic turn after students became rowdy, prompting the driver to stop the bus. A 12-year-old on board says a student then jumped out a window, and the driver told the others to stay seated and wait for law enforcement.
Parents say students remained on the stopped bus for about an hour as some arrived to get their children. Video later shows a parent climbing through a window and confronting the driver. Deputies say that parent was ultimately taken into custody for vandalism.

AGAIN AND AGAIN. Prosecutors WARNED THE JUDGE he was a danger and a flight risk. She released him on an ankle monitor anyway, and now he's at large.

Chicago prosecutors accuse 27-year-old Marshun Kimber of standing at a CTA bus stop with what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail while trying to spark a lighter.

At his July 30 detention hearing, prosecutors specifically argued that Kimber posed a threat to public safety AND could be a flight risk.

Judge Kelly McCarthy released him on electronic monitoring. Of course, within days, prosecutors alleged he violated those conditions. Then Kimber failed to appear in court.

THREE different judges have since issued arrest warrants, according to court records reviewed by CWB Chicago, and Kimber remains at large.

This is almost exactly the scenario prosecutors warned about before he was released.

We need to replace these weak, soft judges who continue to put our communities at risk.

NEW: President Donald J. Trump announces the U.S. is dispatching aid to Nepal following catastrophic flooding and mudslides that leveled buildings in the country.

Officials are currently working to verify the safety of dozens of citizens who were in the area during the disaster while nearly 400 have been confirmed dead and almost a thousand others are still missing.

BREAKING: DHS confirms to FoxNews that 3 of the 9 men arrested by police sanctuary Fairfax County, VA in a child sex sting operation are illegal aliens with lengthy criminal histories, including sodomy and solicitation of prostitution of minors, who were caught & released at the border by the Obama administration. The men thought they were meeting children for sex, but they were undercover police.

Per DHS, they include:

Salvadoran illegal alien Wilmer Alexander Aguilar Cruz, caught and released near Hidalgo, TX by the Obama admin in 2012. Rap sheet includes solicitation of a child, indecent liberties, proposed sex acts, sodomy, extortion, and threat to burn.

Salvadoran illegal alien Reyban Leono Sanchez Hernandez, who was caught & released at the Texas border by the Obama admin in 2023. Has prior criminal history including solicitation of prostitution from a minor.

Illegal alien Henry Adalberto Flores Herrera, whose criminal history includes
felony solicitation of prostitution from a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor, driving under the influence of liquor, and a traffic offense.

ICE placed detainers on them with Fairfax County, but FOX 5 DC reports all three of them have already been released by the county with low bonds of $3,000 and $5,000 with ICE detainers ignored.

DHS statement to FOX:

“These criminal illegal aliens were hand-delivered to Fairfax County communities by President Obama, who, like Sleepy Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, unleashed millions of unvetted illegal aliens into American communities and abused the law to do so.…Under Governor Spanberger, Virginia has become a hotbed of illegal alien crime.”
