A Georgia deputy who was paralyzed in an on-duty crash in 1994 died from her injuries Saturday.

Hall County Betty Jean Uriegas, 66, was in her cruiser Aug. 17, 1994, when the unit struck a tree, and she was left a C4 quadriplegic, according to her obituary. Two years after the crash carried the torch for the Atlanta Paralympic Games.

Uriegas joined the sheriff's office in 1985, and she served as jailer and then a dispatcher before becoming a patrol deputy, "her dream job," the obituary stated. Described as "one of the toughest, most resilient deputies to ever wear the badge," Hall also was a member of the dive team and honor guard, according to the sheriff's office, which retired her 434 badge number following the crash.

Oklahoma trooper’s quick thinking avoids a potentially deadly collision. He sees a semi in his rearview mirror bearing down on him and has to move fast. The video is from a crash cushion truck following a line-striping crew.

Oklahoma  Highway  Patrol: A Close Call For Our Trooper

A routine construction shift on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike nearly turned into a tragedy earlier this week.

LT Forrest White #126 was working behind an attenuator truck and a lane-striping vehicle near mile marker 10. The crew was traveling around 10 mph, with LT White in the inside lane, emergency lights activated and warning approaching drivers to slow down and move over.

Then he noticed a semi-truck in his rearview mirror that didn’t appear to be slowing down.

LT White had to make a split-second decision. He moved in front of another semi and ended up in the ditch along the side of the highway. Moments later, the approaching semi struck the attenuator truck at an estimated 50 mph. The attenuator truck is specifically there to absorb an impact, and it did its job.

Thankfully, there were no serious injuries. One person in the attenuator truck was taken to the hospital to be checked out, and the semi driver was uninjured.

The semi driver told LT White he simply didn’t realize how slowly the construction crew was traveling. LT White issued him a citation for failure to reduce speed or move over, a violation carrying a $1,000 penalty.

This could have ended so much differently.

🚨 Please slow down. Move over. Pay attention. 🚨

Our road crews and law enforcement officers are putting their lives on the line every day to keep our highways safe. Give them the space and time they need to do their jobs and make it home safely.

JUST IN: Former Southern Poverty Law Center executive ARRESTED

@police_frequency
πŸ”₯118πŸ‘95🀣6πŸ‘5❀4🍾1
Following an FBI investigation with our DOJ partners: today we are announcing a superseding indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Director of Intelligence, Heidi Beirich.

As alleged, Heidi Beirich was at the center of our ongoing investigation into SPLC and their previously alleged criminal activity - where SPLC knowingly misled donors, who believed their money was being used to dismantle violent extremist organizations - when in fact, part of those donations were instead being used to pay senior leadership within those extremist groups.

According to the indictment and our investigation, Beirich played a primary role in this scheme. From at least 2007-2023, Beirich allegedly helped orchestrate this fraudulent activity worth approximately $4.2 million, conspiring with SPLC to defraud donors, obtaining money through these materially false and fraudulent pretenses and omissions to pay leadership of the very violent organizations SPLC claimed to oppose.

Beirich was arrested today - charged with crimes including wire fraud conspiracy, conspiracy to submit false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering.

This is an ongoing investigation. This FBI will find anyone who exploits the trust of the American people and our financial system.

ABSOLUTELY SENSELESS: A father allegedly lost his life over an argument about a DRINK.

Police say 56-year-old Fredrick Lytton and 23-year-old Devin Rice were working at a West Nashville U-Haul when a verbal dispute broke out over a drink.

Investigators say Rice pulled out a pistol, fired multiple rounds at Lytton and fled the business.

Officers found the 56-year-old father suffering from multiple gunshot wounds shortly after 5 p.m. He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center but did not survive.

Police arrested Rice the next day.

Investigators say he admitted arguing with Lytton before opening fire. He is now charged with criminal homicide.

Over a DRINK.

A man went to work and never returned home because another adult allegedly lacked the self-control to walk away from a petty argument.

This kind of senseless violence is becoming horrifyingly common.
What is happening to our country?

β€œ14 million Americans lost their jobs to AI and automation in 2026.” β€” Forbes

While people lose their paychecks, corporations put AI to work and consolidate control over technology, land, and assets.

The new era will divide society into two groups: those replaced by technology and those whose assets grow because of it.

Serving as the White House Press Secretary over the past year and a half has been the honor and adventure of a lifetime. I am incredibly grateful to President Trump for granting me so many extraordinary opportunities, such as working in the West Wing and spending countless hours in the Oval Office, flying around the world and meeting foreign leaders, and traveling across our beautiful country and meeting Americans from all walks of life.

Most of all, I am thankful to the President for entrusting me with the distinct privilege of speaking on his behalf at the White House podium. I have spoken with great pride about the many historic accomplishments of this Administration, and I have relished holding the liberal media accountable and ensuring the American people hear the truth about President Trump’s successes.

Being a mother and welcoming a new baby while working in one of the most demanding jobs in the world has been the most rewarding yet challenging season of my life, to say the least. The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary β€” and that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life.

President Trump has asked me to continue serving as a top advisor to him on the outside, and I will always remain a vocal advocate for MAGA and the Republican Party.

Our country is facing an existential threat from an increasingly extremist Democrat Party that seeks to destroy everything great about America, and I believe it is incumbent upon all of us who care about this country to fight back against that threat. My fight is entering a new phase, but it is far from over.

Thank you again to the President, the First Lady, and the entire Trump family for your kindness and generosity over the years. Thank you to our amazing Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for empowering me since the day she hired me on the campaign, and to the President’s cabinet, my staff, colleagues, and friends at the White House who work so hard on behalf of our nation. It has been a privilege to serve alongside so many accomplished and impressive people, and I look forward to cheering them on over the next two and a half years.

And of course, thank you most especially to my loving and supportive husband and family for the sacrifices they made for me to serve in this role. β™₯οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
