HERO ALERT: An armed citizen stopped a shotgun threat inside a crowded Utah gas station before the suspect could fire.

Police say 23-year-old Ofa’tangikivaha Angilau became belligerent after a clerk refused to sell him alcohol without identification.

Another customer intervened and helped remove him from the store.

But Angilau returned carrying a shotgun.

The armed citizen immediately opened fire, striking Angilau before he could discharge the weapon or hurt anyone inside.

Angilau did not survive. The armed citizen remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

A dangerous man entered a crowded business carrying a shotgun. Thankfully, a law-abiding citizen was prepared to stop him. When a threat appears without warning, an armed citizen may be the only person standing between innocent people and tragedy.

A Kentucky 1-year-old allegedly spent his final days confined to a playpen surrounded by animal waste, soiled diapers, trash and raw sewage.

Police say Deavan Williams knew the child had been eating part of a feces contaminated diaper before becoming unresponsive. Williams claimed he had fallen asleep and that the little boy choked.

Investigators also accused Williams of intentionally feeding the child extremely spicy food and subjecting him to cruel punishment.

Williams is now charged with wanton m*rder and first degree criminal abuse. The child’s mother, Alexandrae Price, is also charged with first degree criminal abuse.

This is SICK and outright evil. How does any adult allow a defenseless
child to live like this?

NEW: A Utah Highway Patrol trooper and a Beaver County sheriff’s deputy were struck by a vehicle Tuesday while assisting at the scene of an earlier crash on Interstate 15, authorities said.

The incident occurred on northbound I-15 near milepost 126-127 in the Cedar Knoll area of Beaver County, near Sulphurdale and Cove Fort.

According to UHP public information officer Zach Randall, the officers were on the side of the road when another vehicle hit them both. The trooper is "okay," and the deputy broke his arm and had "other minor injuries," a Utah Highway Patrol spokesperson said.

Brodie Hester and Preston McKee allegedly drove from Arizona to New Mexico to pick up a girl who connected with Hester on a dating app and claimed she was 18. Then they learned she was actually 17.

Police say both men later admitted having s*x with her even after discovering her real age. The teenager also accused them of restraining and s*xually assaulting her inside a hotel before leaving her in the desert. She walked until she reached a Chipotle and called for help.

Hester and McKee are now facing multiple felony charges of sexual conduct with a minor. She told them she was 18. They found out the truth. What police say happened next is what makes this case so disturbing.

Trooper Steve McClain, who was off duty at the time, confronted the active shooter at the Twin Falls In-N-Out.

Specialist McClain has served with ISP for 12 years and is assigned to the Commercial Vehicle Safety program. He and his family are members of the Twin Falls community.

“My heart remains with the victims, their families, those who were injured, and everyone whose lives have been changed by this tragedy. Like many others who were there that day, I simply did what I believed needed to be done," said Specialist McClain

A dispute involving a woman allegedly ended with two Florida men squaring off in a supermarket parking lot.

Police say James Gay approached Everette Krichbaum while he was sitting in his vehicle, started a confrontation and later returned with a machete. Gay allegedly hit Krichbaum with the sheathed weapon. Gay told police Krichbaum responded by swinging a hatchet.

Both men ended up in the hospital and were then arrested on aggravated battery charges.

NEW: 6 people are dead in connection to a homicide investigation in Winfield, Kansas.

Winfield police confirmed that four children and one woman were shot and killed by a male suspect on Tuesday.

In the press briefing, police said that officers received a call at 8:50 a.m. from a man who said he had killed his entire family and was going to kill himself.
When officers arrived at the scene, they heard a gunshot. After breaching the front door, they found that the suspect, Ronald H. Williams Sr., was dead.

Officers also found 44-year-old Kelly L. George dead at the scene, along with four dead children between the ages of three and nine.

“WE’RE HERE TO LOVE YOU”: A Nashville police lieutenant saved a man preparing to jump from the Victory Memorial Bridge.

The man had been livestreaming his intention to jump into the Cumberland River when Metro Nashville Police Lt. Mike Hotz approached him.

Body-camera footage shows the lieutenant calmly speaking with the man, listening to him and gradually earning his trust.

“I’m not gonna try nothing crazy. I promise you to the Lord himself. Can I shake your hand?” Hotz asked.

The man stepped away from the edge and embraced the officer as he wept.

“I love you. It’s gonna be alright,” Hotz told him. “We’re here to love you, bro.”

Hotz previously served on MNPD’s Crisis Negotiation Team. He is also an Army infantry veteran who completed combat deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. He said his experiences with fellow veterans facing mental health crises helped him during the rescue.

After the man was safely placed in the care of officers and crisis counselors, it was reported that Hotz stepped away to pray and thank God for putting him in the right place at the right time.

A terrifying sequence of events unfolded earlier today, starting right at the on-ramp. An erratic driver was spotted aggressively pushing another vehicle into adjacent traffic lanes, narrowly avoiding a major collision, according to Santa Clarita Incidents.

The situation escalated rapidly. A reckless driver sped past surrounding cars, blew completely through a red light, went fully AIRBORNE, and crashed at a gas station off of Sand Canyon Rd.

Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, NM, continues to actively investigate reports involving an armed individual in the Ventana Ranch area. The individual has not been positively identified or arrested. Investigators are working to identify and locate him and determine whether criminal charges are supported by the evidence.

BCSO recognizes and respects lawful firearm ownership and the right to lawfully open carry in New Mexico. This investigation is not based solely on the fact that an individual was openly carrying firearms. Deputies are investigating the totality of the reported conduct and circumstances that caused residents to fear for their safety. Because this remains an active investigation, we are not releasing additional details about that conduct at this time.

Until the individual is located and investigators can speak with him, residents should remain aware of their surroundings and should not approach or engage him. Anyone who sees the individual matching the previously released description or the updated photo should move to a safe location and call 911.

LEGACY MEDIA AT IT AGAIN.

The Associated Press suggested ICE could keep Americans in the dark by releasing body camera footage only when it served the agency’s “best interests.”

Acting ICE Director David Venturella says that is NOT what the full policy says. He accused the AP of conflating ICE’s broader authority to release footage with its separate process for expedited releases after serious injuries or deaths in custody.

Venturella said footage can be released quickly when appropriate, but not when doing so could compromise an investigation or violate privacy. ICE also expects every officer and agent in the field to have a body camera by the end of August.
