Boris Johnson vowed not to 'negotiate a delay' to Brexit today after his moment of triumph on a deal was dramatically snatched away by a Remainer plot. Despite frantic efforts, the PM failed to fend off an amendment tabled by former Cabinet minister Sir Oliver Letwin, which prevented his new package being put to a formal vote this afternoon. Mr Johnson now faces being compelled by the Benn Act to ask the EU for a Brexit extension tonight - but he defiantly insisted he would not change his stance. Responding to the result, he raged: 'The best thing for the UK and for the whole of Europe is for us to leave with this new deal on October 31. ‘I will not negotiate a delay with the EU and neither does the law compel me to do so.’

Alyssa Shepherd (left), 24, was found guilty of after week long trial in the Fulton County courtroom. She's been charged with three counts of reckless homicide, a felony count of criminal recklessness and a misdemeanor count of causing injury by passing a school bus with the safety arm extended. On October 30, 2018, Shepherd was driving in Rochester around 7.15am when she ran into four children crossing the street. The children were walking to the school bus, which used the proper extended warning sign to signal children crossing. Shepherd claims she didn't see the bus or the warning sign, despite a driver behind her seeing the vehicle. Xzavier and Mason Ingle (top right), their sister 9-year-old Alivia Stahl (top right) were killed by the impact. 11-year-old Maverik Lowe (bottom right) was critically injured.

The failed raid to capture El Chapo's son on Thursday, which led to the death of eight people in Mexico, was kicked off by an arrest warrant issued by a federal judge in Washington, DC. Mexican security forces aborted an attempt to capture Ovidio Guzman Lopez, one of imprisoned drug lord Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman's sons, Thursday in Culiacan, in the Sinaloa state, after finding themselves outgunned in a ferocious shootout with cartel henchmen that left at least eight people dead and more than 20 wounded. Authorities said 35 troops arrived at a home Thursday afternoon to arrest Ovidio on a 2018 extradition request from the US. Although they entered the home where Ovidio and three others were inside, they did not take him into custody. #losers

A West Texas longhorn has unofficially broken the Guinness World Record for largest horn span on a steer. The six-year-old longhorn, called Bucklehead, showed off his prodigious, tip to tip, 11-feet, 1.8-inch horn span at Lawton, Oklahoma's Horn Showcase, which ran from October 4 to 5. Guinness is currently reviewing the paperwork before deeming Bucklehead's record official, so that it can be included in the 2020 record book, according to the San Angelo Standard-Times. #WOW

(WARNING 21+) The Albuquerque Police Department released details about an officer-involved shooting on August 22. APD officers had been dispatched to the bus stop near the Walmart on Eubank after receiving calls about a man tossing a gun from hand to hand. The man was later identified as Roger Schafer, 57. One officer asked Schafer to put his hands in the air, and since multiple officers observed a handgun in the waistline of his pants, they told him to keep his hands away from his waist. One officer fired a 40 mm launcher, striking Schafer in his knee. Police said Schafer grabbed the grip of the gun and began to remove it from his pants. In response, three officers fired their weapons. Officers attempted to render aid, but Schafer was pronounced dead at the scene. Police later determined that Schafer's weapon was a BB gun that resembled a 9 mm handgun. 🔫👮🏻‍♂️ #shooting

Impressive moment Tesla autopilot reacts in the dark to stop car before it hits mother grizzly and her cubs on Montana road. Utah native Andrew Whittle posted a video showing his Tesla Model 3 stop while he said he was on a road trip from Utah to Montana. The vehicle was travelling at 50mph according to Whittle when it detected the family of bears ahead. A mother bear and two cubs are seen crossing the road, before she appears startled by the lights and comes to a stop with her babies. 🐻 #wow
