On June 4th, Governor Polis signed into law HB 26-1276, which while serving largely as a vehicle to shield personal identifying information (PII) of illegal immigrants within Colorado, also reversed a de facto prohibition on private attorneys from sharing information obtained through the state’s court e-filing system with federal immigration authorities.

WATCH LIVE: President Donald J. Trump Participates in a Medal of Honor Ceremony

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/14iWuVWhbUC/

POTUS prepares to award the Congressional Medal of Honor to Retired U.S. Marine Corps Major James Capers, Jr., a Vietnam War hero, at the White House:

"Jim, the nation kept you waiting far too long β€” so I say to you, congratulations!"

POTUS tells the story of Colonel John W. Ripley, a Marine Corps hero to whom he will soon posthumously award the Congressional Medal of Honor:

"Dangling beneath the bridge and over the rushing water... completely exposed to withering enemy gunfire, John completed, not one, not two, but five such trips."

POTUS prepares to award the Congressional Medal of Honor to Retired U.S. Army Major Nicholas Dockery:

"At one point, he killed a Taliban fighter and detained two others. As he reached Sergeant Mitchell, a grenade came raining down. Without thinking, Nick tackled Sergeant Mitchell, likely saving his life."

POTUS at a Medal of Honor ceremony: "As we approach the 250th anniversary of our founding, we remember that we owe everything to heroes like those we celebrate todayβ€”men who went willingly to the darkest and most dangerous corners on earth to defeat evil so we could live free." πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Then-Second Lieutenant James Capers, Jr. receives the Medal of Honor for acts of gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty as a Team Leader with 3d Force Reconnaissance Company, 3d Reconnaissance Battalion in the Republic of Vietnam from March 31 to April 3, 1967.

During a four-day reconnaissance patrol, he and his team were tasked with locating a North Vietnamese regimental base camp. Despite making contact with a numerically superior enemy force on three separate occasions, he tenaciously continued the mission. He successfully directed fire onto an enemy base camp, thwarting an impending attack on a nearby Marine battalion.

On the final day, his patrol was ambushed by a claymore mine and came under a dense barrage of enemy fire, where he sustained multiple severe wounds. Ignoring his injuries and extreme blood loss, he continued to lead his team, coordinate supporting fire, and direct their movement to an extraction site. Refusing to be evacuated before all his men were safe, he ensured the entire team was extracted before finally boarding the helicopter.

MacArthur Park Update #5

Last night, DEA LA and LAPD conducted a joint narcotics operation in the MacArthur Park area and it sent a clear message: drug dealers are not welcome in our communities.

Six individuals were arrested on suspicion of narcotics sales. Federal and state laws were enforced. This is part of a sustained, coordinated effort to dismantle the open-air drug markets that have plagued Los Angeles for too long.

I want to commend our federal agents and the men and women of LAPD for their professionalism and dedication.

The people of Los Angeles deserve safe parks, safe streets, and safe neighborhoods. We are delivering on that promise. Law and order is being restored in Los Angeles.

A Larimer County Sheriff’s Office sergeant and deputy and one of the men's family members were killed  in a motorcycle crash while vacationing in Idaho.

"Larimer County, we’re heartbroken to share information about a sudden and tragic loss within our agency.

On June 16, an LCSO Deputy, Sergeant, and Sergeant’s family member were vacationing together on a motorcycle trip. The men were traveling on a North Idaho scenic highway when a pickup truck attempted to pass another vehicle in a marked no-passing zone. The truck crossed the double yellow centerline and collided with the motorcycles, killing all three riders.

The truck driver was arrested and booked into the Idaho County Jail on three counts of vehicular manslaughter. Idaho State Police are investigating this crash.

Out of respect for their families’ strong desire for privacy, we aren’t identifying the deputies at this time.

There are no good words in a situation like this. Put simply, these were incredible people who dedicated their lives to making Larimer County better every single day. They trained hard, they served well, and they loved life. As we walk the long and winding path of grief alongside their families, our resolve is stronger than ever:

For them, we’ll bring light into dark places.
For them, we’ll stand for good and fight against evil.
For them, we’ll live each day with gratitude and carry their legacy forward.

Rest easy, brothers. We’ve got it from here.

NEW: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the Jason Raynor Act into law Tuesday in Winter Haven, sending a direct message to anyone who attacks a police officer in Florida: the consequences are now permanent.

The law, named for Daytona Beach Police Officer Jason Raynor β€” who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2021 β€” requires a life sentence without the possibility of parole for anyone convicted of manslaughter resulting in the death of a protected law enforcement officer.

β€œThe message we send with this bill is simple,” DeSantis said at the signing ceremony. β€œIf you attack a member of law enforcement in Florida, prepare to be held accountable.”

The Orange County Sheriff's Office VA sadly announced the death of Captain Becky Jones, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

"For 26 years, Captain Jones faithfully served the citizens of Orange County in a variety of roles throughout her distinguished career. She began as a dispatcher before serving as a School Resource Officer, SRO Sergeant, Investigator, Lieutenant of Investigations, Lieutenant of Training and Public Information Officer, and ultimately as Captain of Investigations and Animal Control.

Captain Jones was a true trailblazer within our agency. She was the first female Captain in the history of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the first female SWAT Team member and the first female Firearms Instructor. She earned certifications as a RAD Instructor and General Instructor and was VSI Certified through the Virginia Sheriffs' Institute, a distinction that reflects her commitment to professional development and excellence in law enforcement.
During her career, she continually broke barriers and set an example for future generations of law enforcement officers."

Rest Easy Sister. Prayers for her family of blue and blood.πŸ™πŸ»

Drone Technology Helps Capture Dangerous Suspect

On May 15, Richmond Police officers responded to reports of a reckless driver who was intentionally driving on the wrong side of the roadway in an apparent attempt to cause a collision.

When officers arrived, the suspect intentionally accelerated his vehicle toward a responding officer, forcing the officer to take immediate evasive action. A vehicle pursuit was authorized; however, after the suspect turned off his headlights and entered the freeway traveling the wrong direction, the pursuit was safely terminated.

Shortly afterward, the suspect collided with another vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area.

Fortunately, Richmond Police Department’s Drone as a First Responder (DFR) program was overhead throughout the entire incident, providing officers with real-time aerial intelligence and maintaining continuous visual contact with the suspect. This critical technology, combined with the efforts of our officers and K-9 Bane, led to the successful apprehension of this dangerous individual.

This incident highlights how innovative public safety technology can help officers make informed decisions, reduce risk to the community, and safely bring dangerous situations to a resolution.

Outstanding teamwork by our patrol officers, K-9 Bane, and DFR operators!
