NEW: Sgt. Ivanov, an Atlantic City police officer who suffered life-threatening injuries in the line of duty, was released from AtlantiCare hospital this morning.
The officer made significant progress in recovery after being shot in a June 2 incident that left two Atlantic City police officers injured and the suspect dead.
To celebrate the milestone, members of the Atlantic City Police Department and law enforcement agencies from across the region participated in a clap-out and honor guard escort as the officer left the hospital.
The Atlantic City Police Department expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support, prayers and well wishes from the community, healthcare professionals, first responders, elected officials and law enforcement partners throughout the officer’s recovery.💙🚔

Investigators say the attacks occurred within a 30-minute period and included victims who were simply driving down the highway. One victim was an Uber driver transporting World Cup fans.
Authorities say Sanchez-Munoz is also wanted in connection with a June 11 shooting in Kansas City, Kansas, where he allegedly fired at a vehicle occupied by a man and his child. He currently has an outstanding Wyandotte County aggravated assault warrant with a $100,000 bond.
