UPDATE: Nevada State Police troopers were investigating a crash on northbound U.S. 95 near Las Vegas Boulevard Wednesday when an unrelated vehicle approached the scene and struck a tractor trailer. 
Troopers attempted to stop the driver, but the driver refused and struck a trooper and a nearby car.
During that incident, a trooper fired his weapon.
The suspect drove away from the scene and the vehicle was later found at a nearby hospital. The driver was taken into custody.
A passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital for treatment but later died. 
The trooper involved did not sustain serious injuries.

Firefighters responded to a massive fire in Tracy that left a 1 million-square-foot medical supply distribution center in ruins and sent large plumes of black smoke and debris into the sky. The fire continues to burn on Friday and there are air quality concerns.
