βWhen people know their work matters and that they are appreciated, they answer the call.β
National President Patrick Yoes highlights a critical truth about recruiting and retention in law enforcement. Respect matters. Support matters. And when officers know their communities stand behind them, more men and women are willing to step forward and serve.
During National Police Week, there is no better time to recognize the selfless service of those who show up every day to make their communities safer and stronger.

Over the weekend, one of our CHP - Fresno motor officers was struck from behind while moving to assist a disabled vehicle on Highway 99 near Highway 180.
The impact ejected the officer onto the hood of the vehicle and into active lanes of traffic. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Remarkably, he has since been released and is now recovering at home.
We canβt thank our community enough for the overwhelming support, calls, and messages showing just how much you care. We also want to recognize the incredible citizens and an off-duty Nurse Practitioner who immediately stopped to render aid and provide protection from approaching traffic.
May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, and this crash is an unfortunate reminder of the dangers motorcyclists, including law enforcement officers, face every day.
Please slow down, stay alert, put the phone down, and look twice for motorcycles. One moment of inattention can change lives forever.

BREAKING: A registered sex offender from San Bernardino County and two of his co-conspirators were arrested yesterday morning on a six-count federal indictment charging them with sex trafficking two victims β one of them a minor β in Southern California, threatening and eventually stabbing and injuring one of the victims after she escaped from them.
Tyson Jamerson, 43, a.k.a. βWest Coast,β βWest,β of Colton, California, is charged with one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor, one count of sex trafficking of a minor, one count of commission of a felony offense involving a minor while required to register as a sex offender, one count of sex trafficking through force, threats of force, fraud, or coercion, one count of sex trafficking through force, threats of force, fraud, or coercion, and one count of threats by interstate communication.
Also arrested yesterday were Jaidyn Nyle Steinberg, 21, a.k.a. βSky,β βBunny,β of Cherry Valley, California, and Ahliyah Monique Hinojosa Tavie, 20, a.k.a. βTati,β βMrs. West Coast,β of Eastvale, California.
The defendants made their initial appearances and were arraigned this afternoon in United States District Court in downtown Los Angeles.
βThe defendants preyed on a vulnerable child and young woman, who they lured with false promises, then sex trafficked them for defendantsβ enrichment,β said First Assistant United States Attorney Bill Essayli. βThis vile conduct will not be tolerated and we will aggressively prosecute anyone involved.β
According to the indictment that a federal grand jury returned on May 5, Jamerson and Hinojosa in September 2025 recruited and sex trafficked a minor victim whom they picked up in an area of San Bernardino notorious for commercial sex work. They recruited the victim and eventually took her to an Ontario motel, pressured her to take cocaine and marijuana, took photographs of her in lingerie, then transported her to various βbladesβ β streets known for commercial sex work β before she escaped.
In a separate conspiracy, in November 2025, Steinberg recruited an adult victim at a blade in Hollywood to engage in commercial sex work for Steinbergβs βpimp,β Jamerson. The victim later met Jamerson in a Hollywood motel, where he enticed her to work for him as a commercial sex worker, convinced her to leave with him that night, and collected $500 β her commercial sex proceeds from the previous night β from her.
The victim was taken to an Airbnb in Ontario, where she was not allowed to leave without Jamersonβs permission and was forbidden from contacting friends or family. After Jamerson promised to help her save money for an apartment and a car, he took all her proceeds and left the victim with nothing.
Jamerson and Steinberg stalked and berated the victim after she left Jamerson without paying him proceeds from her last day of work. Jamerson sent the victim threats via Instagram saying that he would injure her.
The abuse ultimately resulted in Steinberg approaching the victim at a Pomona blade in February 2026, fighting her, and using a pocketknife to stab the victim in the abdomen, causing a deep cut that resulted in her hospitalization.
An indictment contains allegations that a defendant has committed a crime. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
If convicted, Jamerson and Steinberg would face a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison and a statutory maximum sentence of life imprisonment. Jamerson also would face a mandatory 10-year consecutive prison sentence if convicted of committing a felony involving a minor while required to register as a sex offender. Hinojosa, if convicted, would face a 10-year mandatory minimum federal prison sentence and a possible sentence of life in federal prison.
The FBI and the Pomona Police Department are investigating this matter. The United States Marshals Service provided assistance.
Assistant United States Attorneys Chelsea Norell and Mirelle Raza of the Major Crimes Section are prosecuting this case.

President Donald J. Trump on his state visit to China: "We have a relationship, he and I, and we've been working together a long time. We've gotten along well. When I first came here, China was really taking advantage of the United Statesβhe understands thatβand now, we do great with China."
POTUS: It's amazing, even with the business leaders β they're the biggest businessmen and women in the world, and most of them never met President Xi until now. This was the first time they met him. They all performed very well.
POTUS: "We have about 30 of the biggest business leaders in the world... Most of them do business here, but probably would like to do more β and I'd like to see them do more. That would be good for trade and trade balance."
POTUS: "They used to call it MSDNC. Now it's MSNOW β and they got rid of it because it was such an embarrassment. It gets no ratings."
So true!
POTUS on President Xi: "They always criticize me when I say good things about certain leaders, and this one, but... he's led almost 1.5 billion people for a long time, and he's respected."
POTUS on topics discussed in his meeting with President Xi: "We had the head of Visa there today... I said what about using Visa in China? For some reason, they were blackballed, and maybe that will come off."
POTUS on his meeting with President Xi: "We talked about a lot of things... we had a very good meeting. We want things from them. One thing he agreed to today, he's going to order 200 jets... that's a lot of jobsβthat's a lot. Boeing wanted 150, he got 200."
POTUS: China is "going to be buying a lot of our farm product, which is great... when you have that many people, they need it β and we have the best product."
POTUS: "One thing I think that we're going to make a deal on, they've agreed they want to buy oil from the United States. They're going to go to Texas. We're going to start sending Chinese ships to Texas, and to Louisiana, and to Alaska... that's a big thing."
