Authorities reported multiple injuries after a series of utility pole explosions Saturday night at a shopping and dining complex in the Los Angeles suburb of Huntington Beach, the Long Beach Press-Telegram and other media reported. On the footbridge, a person was playing the flute while some passers-by shouted at a group of riot police below. An officer aimed a rubber-bullet gun at the passers-by on the footbridge.
While boarding the police vehicle, one officer suddenly stepped out and threw a tear gas grenade at members of the press, who were not equipped with any gas mask at all.
Instant medical assistance was required by the reporters afterwards.
