Kansas: Authorities are on-scene investigating an officer-involved shooting in Salina on Monday.
Details are extremely limited, however, a Kansas Highway Patrol spokesperson said the incident happened shortly after 5 p.m. at 12th and Broadway in Salina.

Louisiana: State says it will seek execution of Gad Black, Baton Rouge man accused of running over BRPD sergeant.

A Baton Rouge man allegedly bragged on Facebook after running over a police officer and dragging him more than 500 feet with his truck.

Police say 41-year-old Gad Black intentionally rammed Sgt. Caleb Eisworth while the veteran officer was riding his marked police motorcycle on Joor Road. The impact threw Eisworth off the bike and trapped him underneath the Ford F-150 as he was dragged down the road.

According to investigators, Black later posted on Facebook, “Just stretched one on Joor Rd.”

Sgt. Eisworth suffered devastating injuries, including two broken legs and a broken arm. Both of his legs were eventually amputated above the knee. After fighting for his life for seven weeks, the 23-year veteran of the Baton Rouge Police Department died from his injuries.

Police say Black admitted he targeted the officer because of a “deep-rooted hatred for law enforcement.” He was later arrested after officers used a taser to take him into custody following a brief struggle.

Press release: “The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision involving a member of the Greenwood City Police Department. At this time, the officer’s name is being withheld pending proper family notification.

A press conference will be held tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. at Greenwood City Hall, Room 207, located at 520 Monument Street, Greenwood, SC 29646.

This remains an active investigation, and no further information will be released until the press conference.

UPDATE: Madman who unloaded rifle at passing cars was previously sentenced for shooting at Boston cops — he was only given 5 years in prison and was currently on parole.

Tyler Brown, 46, emptied 13 rounds from a .40 Glock at two Boston Police officers in the South End in 2020. The Suffolk DA recommended 10 to 12 years in state prison. Judge Janet Sanders sentenced him to five-to-six years plus three years of probation. He was paroled — and on Monday a Massachusetts State Police trooper shot him on Memorial Drive after he opened fire on a USPS truck and civilian vehicles in Cambridge this afternoon.

The family of Quentin Wagner says he recently experienced a life-altering accident. After falling from a tree stand, he sustained multiple fractures to his L2-L5 and C7 vertebrae.

BREAKING UPDATE: The suspect involved in a Salina police chase fired at officers, who returned fire. The suspect was shot and killed. No law enforcement officers were injured.

"On Monday, May 11, 2026, 4:55 PM, Officers of the Salina Police Department attempted to stop a subject and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, the suspect attempted to hit a Saline County Deputy. When the pursuit ended, the suspect began firing at officers. The officers returned fire and the suspect was shot. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No law enforcement officers were injured. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation was contacted and are currently investigating the incident. Any further inquiries in reference to the incident should be made with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation."

Southern California is still experiencing incidents of group grab-and-run thefts.
