Last night, we stood together in solemn remembrance at the California Peace Officers’ Candlelight Vigil, honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

We pay special tribute to our fallen brothers from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department:

Alongside them, we remember all 13 California peace officers honored this year, each name, each face, each light representing a life of service, courage, and unwavering commitment to protecting others.

UPDATE: A standoff involving a suspect wanted for the attempted murder of an L.A. County Sheriff’s Department deputy ended after nearly 10 hours with the suspect in custody and a female hostage rescued, authorities confirmed.

While the barricade situation unfolded on Sunday afternoon, the investigation itself began to unfold around 3 a.m. Sunday when LASD deputies contacted the suspect near 104th Street and Hawthorne Boulevard, located on the border of Inglewood and unincorporated Lennox. 

“Deputies went to detain the suspect, but there was a struggle and the suspect ultimately got away and drove off, striking a deputy with their vehicle,” LASD Deputy Tracy Koerner told KTLA. 

There was no immediate word on the deputy’s condition; however, the Los Angeles Times reported that they did not suffer major injuries. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery🙏🏻

UPDATE: Two officers are hospitalized after Greece Police say a stolen car chase on Sunday night crossed into Rochester’s northwest side and ended in a crash.

The suspect was also injured in the crash at the corner of Mt. Read Boulevard and Lexington Avenue.

Police say they stopped the car near a plaza around 8:40 p.m. after a license plate reader on West Ridge Road flagged it as stolen.

According to officers, the driver then took off, leading to the chase. After the crash, two officers were taken to the hospital, where they’re in stable condition, and the suspect also got medical treatment.

Greece Police say charges are pending and they will release more details later.
