BREAKING OVERNIGHT: Eight NYPD cops got blown off their feet in Queens gas-fed home explosion. They ran into the fire anyway.
NYPD officers walked toward the front door of a South Ozone Park home around 2:42 a.m. Then the house exploded while they were responding to a 911 call.

Eight officers got thrown off their feet. Some slammed into the front gates. They got up and ran into the burning building anyway, pulling one resident out.
Nypost reports that the suspect, Anroop Parasram, 50, had forced his way into the basement apartment near 130th Street and 109th Avenue carrying two garbage bags of canisters. Family members on the 911 call already smelled gas.
He poured accelerant, lit it, and set off a five-alarm blast that collapsed the three-family home and spread to the house next door.
Three orders of protection had been filed against him. The last one expired in 2024

Shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday, the FDNY responded to a report of a fire at 107-55 130th Street in Queens. When units arrived, they encountered a private dwelling heavily involved in fire.

“We immediately started conducting firefighting operations, stretched hoselines and protected the buildings next door. Due to the amount of the fire, we were not able to enter the fire building or conduct any searches,” Chief of Department John Esposito said. “It’s an ongoing scene, and we’re going to be here throughout the day as we continue to conduct searches. It was an extremely dangerous operation for our firefighters.”

Several NYPD officers who responded to the scene suffered minor injuries following an explosion related to the fire.

More than 300 fire and EMS personnel responded to the 5-alarm fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

BREAKING: The House just passed the Senate DHS funding bill (funds all of DHS except ICE & CBP) via voice vote. There was no roll call vote requested. It now goes to President Trump's desk for signature. Democrats had been demanding this for weeks.

Coast Guard, FEMA, Secret Service, CISA etc funding all included, but again, ICE and CBP are not.

ICE and CBP will have to wait until Republicans can pass a second reconciliation bill without any Democratic votes in the Senate.
