Today, California State Senator Shannon Grove is bringing SB 1373 before the Senate Public Safety Committee to address serious issues with mental health diversion. SB 1373 will fix mental health diversion.
The current mental health diversion law is flawed. What should be a pathway for treatment and accountability has, in many cases, become a revolving door. It’s increasingly being used as a scapegoat for even the most violent offenders to escape accountability, leaving victims without justice and putting our communities at risk.
