Statement on Crash involving Frankfort Indiana Police Department Deputy Chief Cesar Muñoz

Earlier this morning, Deputy Chief Muñoz was traveling just south of the city when he was hit head on by another vehicle in his lane of travel. Indiana State Police are investigating the crash. 

At this time we are with Deputy Chief Muñoz who has now been transferred to an Indianapolis hospital.  He is alert and talking to us. We know a lot of people want to know a status update. He is stable. At this time, though, we will not report on his specific injuries as assessments are ongoing.

Trial to start in murder of NYPD Police Officer Jonathan Diller.

The trial of an ex-con who allegedly shot and killed hero Police Officer Jonathan Diller two years ago is expected to begin Tuesday in Queens, where he will come face to face with the murdered cop’s widow, who’s now a single mom of a 3-year-old.

The accused killer, Guy Rivera, 35, will be stared down by a phalanx of police officers expected to flood the courtroom.

Alabama: A person died, and two firefighters were injured in a house fire in Morgan County on Friday.

Morgan County Sheriff deputies responded to the scene on Indigo Lane in Lacey’s Spring in the Union Hill area. The volunteer fire department and EMS were on the scene, assisting with extinguishing the fire. Authorities said once the fire was extinguished, they found a person dead inside the home.

Two firefighters were injured due to bricks falling from a collapsing wall. They have non-life-threatening injuries. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for their recovery🙏🏻

The NYPD mourns the loss of Police Officer Sorffly Davius, who passed away yesterday as a result of a medical episode while deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Epic Fury.

Officer Davius served in the 42nd Infantry Division in the U.S. Army National Guard and rose to the rank of Major.

In 2014, he began his service with the NYPD where he was assigned to the 79th Precinct.

Today, and always, we keep his family in our thoughts and prayers.

May we never forget Officer Davius’ sacrifice and may his memory be a blessing.

Please, pray for the Florida Highway Patrol trooper who was stabbed in the line of duty earlier today.🙏🏻

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was injured in an officer-involved shooting Saturday after he was stabbed multiple times during a confrontation with a driver in Miami-Dade County, according to FHP.

FHP says at around 5:30 a.m., troopers responded to reports of a vehicle driving recklessly eastbound on State Road 836 in the westbound lanes near Northwest 107 Avenue. 
The trooper spotted the car in the grassy center median and approached a female driver, who had a young child in the vehicle, according to FHP.
During the encounter, the woman reportedly wielded a knife and stabbed the trooper in the head, neck and shoulder. The trooper fired his gun, hitting the suspect. Both the trooper and the woman were taken to HCA Kendall Trauma for treatment, FHP said.

Officials later confirmed that the woman has active warrants for child neglect, child abuse and fleeing and eluding law enforcement. The Department of Children and Families has taken custody of the child.

The trooper and suspect's current condition is currently unknown. Troopers say no further information will be released at this time of the investigation.

The FBI is investigating after a flight from Nashville to Fort Lauderdale diverted to Atlanta on Friday night so police could remove a passenger amid a "security scare."

In a Saturday afternoon update, The FBI in Atlanta said on Saturday, however, that there was no credible threat.

Officials with the Atlanta Police Department said they assisted federal authorities in removing the passenger from the aircraft upon landing at 9:06 p.m. at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Although officials have not released details about the nature of the incident, police confirmed that the investigation was handed over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security.

Videos taken by passengers on board Southwest Airlines Flight 2094 show tense moments inside the cabin, with passengers ordered to keep their heads down and their hands up as four geared-up police officers pulled an unidentified man from his seat and handcuffed him.

It is with deep sorrow and unwavering respect, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department joined family, friends, and loved ones in honoring the life of Deputy Brian Sneed.

Deputy Sneed graduated from LASD Academy Class 397 and worked at the Inmate Reception Center before transferring to his patrol assignment at West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.

“Brian was a model deputy,” Sheriff Robert Luna said. “He was disciplined. He was professional, and strove to treat people with dignity.”

Deputy Sneed’s dedication to service, strong moral character, and the positive impact he had on those around him will never be forgotten.

We sincerely thank our community for the continued support shown to Deputy Sneed’s loved ones and to the members of our department as we honor his memory.💙
