Georgia: A retired Fulton County Sheriff’s deputy was hit by a vehicle Sunday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

The incident happened in downtown Atlanta near the intersections of Ted Turner Drive and Mitchell Street. The officer was working a traffic detail in connection with the Publix Atlanta Marathon.

The retired deputy, who has not been identified, is alert, conscious and breathing, according to the sheriff’s office. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Long Beach, California: Triple Shooting: 3/1/26 15:34 Area of Broadway and Pine; LBPD, LBFD are on scene of a shooting near this location. One victim has a GSW to the upper body and another victim has a GSW to the lower body. LBPD is providing aid until LBFD arrives. LBPD is advising two people have been detained.

Update: 15:42; LBPD is advising there is a third victim. Unclear where the victim is struck.

Update: 15:47; LBFD is transporting the first victim to an area hospital
