DEVELOPING: Officials say the active shooter incident occurred at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in Canada. RCMP in Tumbler Ridge, B.C., have issued an emergency alert for an active shooter following reports of a shooter at a school. RCMP say those in Tumblerβ¦
BREAKING UPDATE: 10 dead, including suspect, and 27 injured in Tumbler Ridge shootings associated to high school and secondary location.
Tragedy has struck the small community of Tumbler Ridge in northeast British Columbia, as police confirm six people were killed at a local high school, in addition to a suspect. Another person died en-route to hospital, and two deceased persons were discovered at a secondary location. 25 individuals are being treated for various injuries, and two are being treated for serious injuries.
More from the RCMP:
On February 10, at approximately 1:20 p.m., Tumbler Ridge RCMP received a report of an active shooter at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. A Police Initiated Public Alert (PIPA) was issued as officers responded to the scene. The alert was officially cancelled at 5:45 p.m. as police do not believe there are any outstanding suspects or ongoing threat to the public.
As part of the initial response to the active shooting, police entered the school to locate the threat. During the search, officers located multiple victims. An individual believed to be the shooter was also found deceased with what appears to be a selfβinflicted injury.
Six additional individuals, not including the suspect, have been located deceased inside the school. Two victims have been airlifted to hospital with serious or lifeβthreatening injuries. A third victim died while being transported to hospital. Approximately 25 others are being assessed and triaged at the local medical centre for nonβlifeβthreatening injuries.
All remaining students and staff were safely evacuated. Police are working closely with the school district to support a coordinated reunification process for families.
As part of the ongoing investigation, police have identified a secondary location believed to be connected to the incident, where two additional victims were located deceased in a residence. Officers are conducting further searches of additional homes and properties to determine whether anyone else may be injured or otherwise linked to todayβs events.
Additional RCMP resources continue to be deployed into the community to support the response and investigation. These include but are not limited to Frontline officers, the Emergency Response Team, BC RCMP Major Crime, and Victim Services.
BC RCMP Major Crime has assumed conduct of the investigation and is working to determine the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
βThis was a rapidly evolving and dynamic situation, and the swift cooperation from the school, first responders, and the community played a critical role in our response,β says Superintendent Ken Floyd, North District Commander. βOur thoughts are with the families, loved ones, and all those impacted by this tragic incident. This has been an incredibly difficult and emotional day for our community, and we are grateful for the cooperation shown as officers continue their work to advance the investigation.β
Our thoughts and prayers are with the students, families, staff, first responders, and the entire Tumbler Ridge community tonight.ππ»

President Donald J. Trump on βKudlowβ touts the benefits of tariff for the United States: "Only stupid people or people that really hate Trump could argue with us"
POTUS on the economy: "I remember when I first won, they said, 'If he gets the Dow up to 50,000 by the end of his fourth year, he will have done miracles' β and we're at the end of the FIRST year...Everything's going great. We inherited a total mess from Biden...the inflation was the worst ever, in history."
POTUS: "We want to get the SAVE America Act passed... We want people to have voter I.D., we want people to have proof of citizenship, and we want to have no mail-in ballots, other than if youβre in the military or you're sick or... some reasonable, but good excuse."
POTUS on βKudlowβ touts the benefits of tariff for the United States: "Only stupid people or people that really hate Trump could argue with us"
POTUS talks support for the SAVE Act with Larry Kudlow as he calls out Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal:
βConnecticut is a very corrupt voting place. Thatβs why a guy like Blumenthal can keep getting elected.β
βHe admitted that he cheated on the war like nobodyβs ever cheated. He said he was a great war hero from Vietnam.β
POTUS: "Sometimes great news is announced, and the market literally crashes. Bad news is announced, and the market goes up... we have to go back to the old system. When we have good news, the market should go up, and when we have bad news, the market should go down β and we'll take care of inflation as it comes."
POTUS on the Supreme Court's upcoming tariffs ruling: "I just hope the Supreme Court does what's right for the country... Now, will I figure something out? The answer is yes, but it won't be as beautiful as it is right now."
POTUS tells Larry Kudlow Americaβs economy should be growing βat 15 or 20%β but blames the Federal Reserve for slowing the economy over inflation fears:
βEvery time weβre growing, they stop it by announcing that weβre going to raise interest rates.β
POTUS on the Minnesota Fraud Scandal: "We think it's at least $19 billion of fraud... We're going to get to the bottom of it. We have the best people maybe in the whole country looking at that. We're looking at California, too, because California is worse."
POTUS: "Sanctuary cities... it's sanctuary for criminals, ok? They are protecting criminals. Those states could hand those people over to us, their crime would go down, we'd get them out of the country. They can't do what we can do."

πJob growth surged in January, adding 172,000 private-sector jobs β smashing expectations.
β Private sector employment rose 615,000 in President Trumpβs first year in office, while federal employment declined to its lowest level since 1966.
βThe labor market under Joe Biden was even weaker than we thought with job growth over Bidenβs final 2 years being overstated by a whopping 1.9 million jobs.
The positive economic news continues to pour in under President Trump:
β The Dow Jones Industrial Average surpassed the 50,000 level for the first time ever last week.
β National median rents are now at a four-year low, declining for the sixth consecutive month.
β Mortgage affordability has surged to a four-year high following President Trumpβs bold action to make homeownership affordable again.
β U.S. manufacturing activity expanded in January at the fastest pace since 2022, driven by growth in new orders and production.
β Consumer sentiment is now at a six-month high.
β Third quarter GDP was revised upwards to 4.4% growth, showing that President Trumpβs economy is even stronger than originally estimated.
β Gas prices are averaging roughly 20 cents lower than last year.
β In 17 of the top 20 metro areas with the largest illegal migrant populations, home list prices declined year-over-year in January.
β American truckers and construction workers β both industries with high numbers of foreign-born workers β have reported large increases in pay as blue-collar wages grow at the fastest clip in decades.
β President Trump ended Bidenβs inflation crisis. Since President Trump took office, headline inflation has been running at 2.4% annualized (much lower than the 3% annual rate inherited from Biden) and core inflation has been running at 2.4% annualized (much lower than the 3.3% annual rate inherited from Biden).
β President Trump launched TrumpRx, a transformative new government platform that gives Americans direct access to dramatically lower prices on common, high-cost prescription drugs.
β President Trump has secured trillions in private and foreign investments that are fueling job growth, innovation, and opportunity across every corner of the country.
