Today, we honor fallen Deputy Steven Belanger, who proudly served the Walnut/Diamond Bar jurisdiction, following in his father’s footsteps as a second-generation Deputy Sheriff. On December 10, 1994, Deputy Belanger conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle where he was critically shot by a suspect.

The bullet permanently lodged in Deputy Belanger’s brain, drastically changing his quality of life, career, and family.

On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, Deputy Belanger succumbed to his injuries, surviving 23 years after this life altering event. He is survived by his wife and daughter.

In dedication to Deputy Belanger, a memorial wall was erected at Walnut Station one year after his passing. Then Captain Al Reyes spoke about Steve’s bravery and fighting spirit, “It's a job you choose based on the concept that you can make the world a better place.”

NEW: Leading up to the Super Bowl, OPD has made 45 arrests related to human trafficking. The Oakland Police Department will continue to coordinate with the Santa Clara County Human Trafficking Operations Center, the FBI, and other local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to identify and arrest human trafficking suspects and assist individuals at risk during proactive operations throughout the weekend.

BREAKING: The Secret Service has arrested an Ohio man accused of threatening to kill Vice President JD Vance.

The suspect allegedly made the threat during Vance’s visit to Ohio in January.

He is charged with threatening the successor to the U.S. presidency.

Early this morning, Federal Agents were attempting to detain a protestor who was throwing items at them.  As they attempted to detain the alleged suspect, the suspect turned towards the agents and brandished a firearm.  Agents deployed pepper balls and suspect fled on foot.  Suspect is outstanding.

Prayers for the Atlanta Police officers who were injured in the line of duty this morning.🙏🏻

On Saturday February 7, 2026, at approximately 7:55 AM, Atlanta police responded to a shots fired call at 2470 Cheshire Bridge Rd NE. Upon their arrival to the apartment, officers were immediately met with gunfire. One officer was grazed and the other sustained lacerations.

Officers were able to return fire. This is currently a barricaded gunman situation.

The scene is still active as the investigation continues. We ask the public to avoid the area near Cheshire Bridge and Lenox Rd NE.

WOW: The departing Police Chief just confirmed he was FRUSTRATED by the anti-cop sentiment here in Grand Rapids.

He specifically calls out city leadership for refusing to see police in a positive light.

“Have I seen that here? One hundred percent,” he said.

BREAKING: F-22 Raptor jets were removed from the Super Bowl LX flyover due to increased operational needs, according to Air Force planner Katie Spencer. Initially, F-22s were to showcase 5th-generation airpower alongside Navy fighters, but the jets were reassigned to active missions. The flyover now includes B-1 bombers, F-15s, F/A-18s, and F-35Cs, with F-15s filling in at the last minute. The event, part of the 250th anniversary of the United States, includes a joint color guard and serves as training for military crews.
