Please pray for Deputy Jack Evans. 🙏🏻

This afternoon the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the deputy who was shot multiple times during a traffic stop on January 31, 2026.

Sherriff Watkins said:

“Deputy Jack Evans, 24, was sworn in with the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office on January 3, 2023. Deputy Evans has served with professionalism, dedication, and a strong commitment to public safety since the day he took his oath. He has already earned numerous awards in his time here at PCSO.

Deputy Evans remains under medical care but is in good spirits and has a long road to recovery. Deputy Evans sustained gunshot wounds to both of his legs and his torso. We ask the community to keep Deputy Evans, his loved ones, and all first responders involved in their thoughts.

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Peoria Police Department. Additional information will be released as it becomes available and as the investigation allows.”

COP STABBED: A Gallup Police Department, NM Sergeant and a woman were stabbed in separate incidents last month.

Sergeant Matthew Graham responded to a call at a Sporting Goods Store, where he was stabbed while taking a suspect into custody. He's been released from the hospital. A woman was also attacked by the same suspect at another location and is receiving treatment. The suspect has been arrested and charged.

In Other News: After a car crashed into a fire hydrant in LA' Van Nuys, it was sent into the air by the impact of water rushing out from the broken hydrant.⁠🐳

Authorities are searching for a pickup truck driver who struck and injured a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy before fleeing the scene in Commerce overnight.
The crash was reported shortly after 12:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 5900 block of East Washington Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The deputy was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition, a department spokesperson said. It was unclear whether the suspect intentionally struck the deputy.

Maryland: Units are on scene of an accidental discharge of a firearm in a classroom in Freetown Elementary School. The child with the weapon injured his hand when the discharge occurred. There were other students in the classroom when the firearm discharged, but none were injured. PIO is on scene.
