Massachusetts: Official statement from Millbury Police Chief Brian S. Lewos:

"On February 3rd, 2026, at approximately 7:40 p.m., a Millbury Police Officer, who is also a member of the CEMLEC SWAT team sustained multiple gunshots wounds during a response to a barricaded suspect in Spencer.

The officer was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.  This is the only information available at this time.  The Millbury Police Department will provide updates when available. We ask that you keep the officer, the officers family and fellow officers in mind during this difficult time."

The week-long operation resulted in 14 juvenile rescues, 156 adult rescues, 93 felony arrests, and 518 misdemeanor arrests.

This afternoon the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the deputy who was shot multiple times during a traffic stop on January 31, 2026.

Sherriff Watkins said:

“Deputy Jack Evans, 24, was sworn in with the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office on January 3, 2023. Deputy Evans has served with professionalism, dedication, and a strong commitment to public safety since the day he took his oath. He has already earned numerous awards in his time here at PCSO.

Deputy Evans remains under medical care but is in good spirits and has a long road to recovery. Deputy Evans sustained gunshot wounds to both of his legs and his torso. We ask the community to keep Deputy Evans, his loved ones, and all first responders involved in their thoughts.

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Peoria Police Department. Additional information will be released as it becomes available and as the investigation allows.”

COP STABBED: A Gallup Police Department, NM Sergeant and a woman were stabbed in separate incidents last month.

Sergeant Matthew Graham responded to a call at a Sporting Goods Store, where he was stabbed while taking a suspect into custody. He's been released from the hospital. A woman was also attacked by the same suspect at another location and is receiving treatment. The suspect has been arrested and charged.
