A Maine State Police trooper was injured when his cruiser was struck by a Mercedes on the Maine Turnpike on Friday morning.

Around 7:12 a.m., state police were investigating a minor single-vehicle crash in the median northbound on the Maine Turnpike in Wells. Three troopers had parked their marked cruisers with emergency lights activated to divert traffic away from the crash.

Trooper Christopher Caldeira was sitting in his Ford Explorer cruiser when he was hit from behind by a Mercedes Benz sedan driven by 31-year-old Priscilla Eydra Kifayatullah, of Germantown, Wisconsin.

The crash caused significant damage to both vehicles, and both Caldeira and Kifayatullah were taken to York Hospital with minor injuries.

Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for their recoveryπŸ™πŸ»

One year later Pacific Palisades residents stood together, not just to remember, but to demand accountability for the devastating fire that tore through their community on January 7, 2025. The smoke has faded, but the truth hasn’t: this fire was preventable, and leadership failed citizens long before the flames ever hit.

At the β€œThey Let Us Burn” rally, survivors made it clear, this isn’t just grief. It’s a call for real change, transparency, responsibility, and leadership that protects, not abandons. From delayed brush mitigation to ignored warnings and weakened emergency systems, the decisions that led to catastrophe cannot be swept under the rug.

This past year, officials have offered narratives and sanitized after-actions reports. Residents are not just calling for change, they are demanding it.

Insanity is voting for the same people over and over and believing we will have different results.  I will eliminate Skid Row for the benefit of the hundreds of thousands in California who are being used as pawns because I actually care.  Help us win this election.  California depends on it.

Here’s the rebuttal to Governor Newsom’ State of the State with facts and receipts:

1.Newsom brags about fast-food minimum wage hikes. Reality: California lost 18,000 jobs β€” straight out the drive-thru window.

2.He touts the $25 minimum wage for hospital workers. Reality: 1 in 5 hospitals in California is on the brink of bankruptcy and collapse.

3.He claims we β€œspend more per student than any other state.” Reality: Over 3 million California kids are failing math and English. That’s 1 in 3 students failing under Newsom’s watch.

4.He celebrates high-speed rail. Reality: A multibillion-dollar boondoggle β€” years of spending and still not a single usable track. Environmental review isn’t the issue; hundreds of unresolved land parcels make progress nearly impossible.

5.He finally admits high energy costs are California’s fault. He calls it β€œhardening and investments.” Reality: It’s weaponized legislation forcing expensive mandates that drive rates through the roof.

6.He claims unsheltered homelessness β€œfinally dropped.” Reality: He’s been in statewide power nearly two decades β€” and homelessness has exploded during that time.

7.He brags about crime going down and credits Prop 36 β€” after fighting against it β€” and now takes a victory lap.

8.He blames the Palisades and Eaton fires on climate change and President Trump. Reality: State and local negligence was documented decades ago β€” they ignored warnings and failed to prepare.

Bottom line: spin meets facts β€” and the facts aren’t on his side.
