Meet K9 Maverick and K9 Charlie, nearly one-year-old shepherds who were officially welcomed by their handlers, Officer Sjoting and Officer Scheetz.

These K9s were made possible thanks to the generous support of from the public, and we are incredibly grateful for your partnership.

A huge thank you to Blue Line K9 for their outstanding work in training and delivering our newest partners as they begin their careers.

Maverick and Charlie will start their 400-hour state certification course in January as they continue their journey to becoming fully certified K9s for Tacoma.

NYPD detective saves the life of a choking baby on his way to work in rush hour traffic. 
 
Detective First Grade Michael Greaney was in traffic when he saw a black SUV speeding in the emergency shoulder lane. 
 
Greaney turned on the lights of his unmarked car and pulled over the BMW to see what was going on.

"My baby’s choking," the panicked father said.

Greaney jumped into action, pulling the child out of the car and hitting the baby girl on the back, clearing her throat and allowing her to breathe again.

Greaney has worked for the NYPD for 17 years. The baby is doing well, according to the father, who spoke with the New York Post.

Texas: Northeast Patrol officers were responding to an emergency call at approximately 8:30 a.m. when their patrol car was involved in a crash near Peavy Road and North Buckner Boulevard.

Both officers were transported to the hospital in stable condition.

JUST IN: Multiple law enforcement agencies are assisting with a shooting involving U.S. Border Patrol in Starr County, Texas.

The shooting occurred on Thursday on Midway Road near the riverbank in Rio Grande City. According to the Starr County Sheriff’s Office, Border Patrol agents were involved in a struggle before the shooting.

Starr County deputies are securing the scene. Texas Rangers are leading the investigation.
