Chicago police said a tow truck driver allegedly crashed into a CPD squad unit in West Garfield Park.

The crash happened at about 10:09 p.m. in the 4500-block of W. Madison Street, police said.

A man, 26, was driving a tow truck eastbound on Madison and allegedly crashed into a CPD squad unit that was heading southbound.

Police said the crash happened at the intersection.

Two Chicago police officers were taken to an area hospital; both are expected to be OK.

The driver that allegedly crashed into police was not injured. Police said he was issued a citation.

BREAKING: Jamaica relief flight crashes into Coral Springs neighborhood, Florida.

Emergency crews are responding after a reported small plane crash in a Coral Springs neighborhood Monday morning.

According to a spokesperson at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, the Beechcraft King Air twin-turboprop plane took off from the airport at about 10:14 a.m. en route to Jamaica for relief efforts following Hurricane Melissa.

Michigan: A new plaque honoring Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Sergeant Ryan Proxmire was unveiled in 2025, remembering the law enforcement officer who died in the line of duty in 2021.

The Valhalla Project organization added Proxmire to their Wall of Heroes, with his family present to accept the honor. The memorial serves as a lasting tribute to the sergeant who is remembered as a hero by his department and community.

Officer Smith served with the WakeMed Department for 14 years and had previously served in the Knightdale Police Department in NC for 17 years.

He is survived by his brother and two adult daughters.

UPDATE: A carjacking suspect who stole a truck hauling portable toilets was arrested on Sunday afternoon following a hit-and-run crash on Pacific Coast Highway In Malibu.

Santa Monica police say that the commercial vehicle, a Ford F550 truck that had a trailer with multiple bathrooms as cargo, was taken at around 2:50 p.m. from Third Street and Arizona Avenue near the Third Street Promenade.

At around 4:20 p.m., authorities said that the suspect was found and arrested after he fled towards the Big Rock Beach shoreline on foot.

Police said one of the portable toilets came loose from the truck and fell onto the road near PCH and Sunset Boulevard.

No one was injured during the hit-and-run crash.

A suspect in the weekend Border Patrol attack is now in custody. Is this a warning to others?

The Montana Highway Patrol sadly announced the death of retired Officer Roger Dundas who passed away last week.

He served the Patrol from his swearing-in on June 30, 1992, until his retirement on November 25, 2013. He and his wife, Dottie, moved to Washington after his retirement.
