Another update from your FBI on our efforts to defend the homeland and protect the American people by crushing violent crime. This week at the FBI... 
 
- FBI Philadelphia took down a drug trafficking ring in the Kensington neighborhood where over 30 members of the Weymouth Street Crew were charged with conspiracy to commit drug trafficking. 

- FBI San Antonio arrested three subjects while FBI Albuquerque conducted four search warrants of their residences, seizing over $2 million in illegal narcotics, including THC/vape pens, over $182,000 in bulk cash, 11 firearms, four vehicles, and other valuables  

- FBI New York participated in a nationwide takedown of over 30 defendants for their alleged involvement in two separate illegal poker and sports betting schemes where the odds were rigged.
 
- FBI Milwaukee executed a large-scale takedown resulting in 16 federal search warrants and 20 subjects taken into federal custody. Approximately $50,000 in U.S. currency was seized, along with three vehicles, 14 pistols, one rifle, one kilogram of cocaine, and six pounds of marijuana. 

- FBI Salt Lake City arrested four individuals for illegal gambling and money laundering, executed one federal search warrant, and assisted in 116 immigration arrests. 

The FBI has arrested more than 28,630 violent criminals so far in 2025. 

I’d like to thank our FBI Field Offices for their outstanding work. The FBI will continue to do EVERYTHING in our power to protect the American people and bring violent offenders to justice.

Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Force Investigation Division and California Department of Justice (DOJ) are investigating an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) that occurred in Mission Division.

On September 10, 2025, at approximately 5:18 p.m., Mission Patrol Division uniformed officers responded to a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon suspect at the 8700 block of Orion Avenue. The comments of the call indicated the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Gustavo Ramirez, was armed with a glass bottle and a firearm.

As an Airship arrived overhead, they directed officers to the area of Orion Avenue and Parthenia Street, where the suspect was observed. Upon contact, the officers attempted to gain Ramirez’s compliance by issuing verbal commands. Ramirez failed to comply, pointed a handgun at the officers and an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) occurred.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported the Ramirez to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

No officers or community members were injured during this incident.

The handgun used by Ramirez was later determined to be a black plastic replica. The replica handgun was recovered at the scene and booked as evidence.

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: At least 13 people shot, 2 fatally, at Halloween party outside Maxton in Robeson County, North Carolina.

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office along with multiple assisting agencies, is currently investigating a tragic shooting that occurred at a large party on Dixon Drive just outside of Maxton. At this time, thirteen individuals have been shot, with two confirmed deceased and several others critically injured.

There is no current threat to the community as this appears to have been an isolated incident.

More than 150 of people ran from the location before law enforcement arrived. We are asking that anyone with information regarding this incident or anyone that was at the scene when the shooting occurred, to make contact with Sheriff’s Investigators by calling 910-671-3100 or email sheriff.wilkins@robesoncountysonc.gov.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
