Earlier this week, an SPD K9 Officer spotted a stolen SacRT Flex vehicle in the area of El Camino Avenue and Howe Avenue. When the officer attempted to  stop the vehicle, the suspect fled, leading officers on a short  pursuit.

The  pursuit ended near Auburn Boulevard and Fulton Avenue after the suspect collided with other vehicles. The suspect then tried to run, but officers quickly gave chase and took him into custody.

Thanks  to the quick work of our officers and the assistance of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was safely apprehended.

NEW: At least four people were shot near Howard University Friday night, D.C. Fire and EMS says.

The shooting comes as the school is holding homecoming celebrations.

According to officials, the shooting happened in the 2300 block of Georgia Avenue near Howard Place. 

At this time, police say one person is in serious condition and one is in critical condition. 

The conditions of the other two victims are not yet known. 

Police have not provided any information on a possible shooter.

North Carolina: CMPD, family members and witnesses tell WSOCTV's Joseph Andrade targeted strangers in a deadly crime spree across Charlotte Thursday.

Police say Andrade shot and killed Justin Carlton. Carlton's mom tells Hunter that her son did not know Andrade and that he was "in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Carlton's mom says Andrade shot and killed Carlton before stealing his car and then crashing it. This happened near Hoskins Avenue and Black Street. A second victim, who hasn't been identified, was also shot.

Neighbors say after Andrade crashed Carlton's car, he stole another car but shortly later crashed it into a home under construction. Surveillance video captured Andrade sprinting away from the scene and turning on to Cloudman Steet where police say he broke into a home, kidnapped a woman and stole her SUV.
