It is with profound sadness that Spartanburg Police Department, South Carolina, share that MPO Javan King, Jr., (Retiree) passed earlier this morning.

Javan began his service with the City of Spartanburg as a Public Safety Officer in November of 1984 and retired in August of 2024.

Today at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, an individual with an AR-15 was arrested after threatening to “shoot up” the airport.

DHS is in communication with our interagency partners and will share more information as soon as it becomes available.

I am thankful this individual was taken into custody by law enforcement before harming anyone.

Six reasons why California is currently a mess:

A Santa Barbara Police Officer was injured after being hit by a vehicle during an investigation of a stolen vehicle on the Westside Saturday.

At approximately 6:54 p.m. on October 18, 2025, Santa Barbara Police officers were patrolling the 1100 block of Mercedes Lane when they saw possible stolen vehicle in a shared parking lot. 

The officers approached the vehicle on foot and contacted the sole occupant, who was seated in the driver’s seat. He was identified as 24-year-old Kevin Benitez-Carbajal.

Immediately upon contact, the driver attempted to elude capture by reversing the vehicle out of the parking stall.  An officer was struck by the backing vehicle, causing minor injuries.

The fire is 1/4 acre burning uphill, with immediate structure threats to homes on Camino Capistrano.

Florida: The Daytona Beach Police Department confirmed that an officer was injured in a crash after a Chevrolet Silverado ran a red light at the intersection of N Halifax Ave and Seabreeze Blvd on Friday.

The incident happened when a 59-year-old Daytona Beach man driving a Chevrolet Silverado collided with a police vehicle at N Halifax Ave and Seabreeze Blvd.

The Florida Highway Patrol is carrying out an independent investigation into the crash. The Daytona Beach Police Department has confirmed that the officer involved suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized for treatment.

Please, pray for Warren Police K-9 Diezel who was injured in the line of duty last week🙏🏻

Michigan: A Warren police K-9 is expected to recover after being struck by a stolen vehicle driven by a 62-year-old man allegedly behind a series of crimes that ended with police shooting one of the suspect's accomplices.

“Thank God the Warren police converged on the vehicle and got it stopped,” he said.

Prosecutor Lucido said Diezel will be OK after being hit.
