More than 70,000 sworn law enforcement officers across DHS including those serving in CBP, ICE, Secret Service, Air Marshals and other critical mission areas will be paid for all hours worked during the shutdown period.

By Wednesday, October 22, law enforcement officers will receive a “super check” –which covers the 4 days lost, their overtime, and their next pay period.

Each year our personnel must complete a minimum amount of training to keep our Peace Officer Standards current for the State of California. Yesterday, we caught a glimpse of Deputies taking part in this year’s annual refresher training course at the Tactics and Survival Unit focusing on safety, teamwork, and up-to-date response practices. During the course, deputies are also updated on laws or policies that have changed to affect the way we police.

Staying prepared means keeping our community safe.
