Ohio homeowner shoots dead two 17-year-old boys who were 'trespassing' inside his garage at night then calls 911 to tell cops. The homeowner has not been named but is being questioned. The boys have been identified as 17-year-olds Devon Henderson and Javier Harrison. It remains unclear if they were trying to break into the property, or what their motive for being there was. When the homeowner called 911, he told the operator: 'I shot two guys. I shot two persons (who) tried to rob… to do something in my house.' Dayton Daily News, a local outlet, says one of the teenagers' father's believed they knew the shooter and had been in the garage before.

Once Dorian escalated into a hurricane, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency on Wednesday urging residents to stock up on a week's worth of supplies, leading Floridians to clean out grocery stores, stock up on gasoline, and protect their homes with aluminum panels. An update from the National Hurricane Center at 8am EST on Thursday warned that tropical force winds from Dorian, which is currently a Category 1 storm, could start to hit parts of Florida as early as Saturday evening and the hurricane could make landfall by late Sunday or early Monday. 🌪💦😱
An Alabama man who has served 36 years in prison for stealing $50.75 from a bakery will now finally walk free after a judge re-sentenced him. Alvin Kennard, 58, was originally sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole back in 1983 for first-degree robbery. After more than three decades behind bars, Kennard was ordered to be released on Wednesday and is set to now be processed out by the Alabama Department of Corrections. His unusually harsh punishment for theft in 1983 was due to Alabama's old 'three strikes law', also known as the Habitual Felony Offender Act.
