The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is proud to announce the graduation of 74 recruits from Academy Class 483, who have earned the esteemed title of Deputy Sheriffs and Police Officers. Among the graduates, 10 have honorably served in the United States Military, and 29 have family members who currently serve or have previously served in law enforcement, reinforcing the strong commitment to public safety. Additionally, 6 graduates were born outside of the United States, hailing from Armenia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, and South Korea.

Conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett said Thursday she does not believe the United States is in a constitutional crisis as President Donald Trump seeks to unilaterally reshape the government and his administration frequently feuds with judges.

Barrett, a Trump appointee who is part of the Supreme Court's 6-3 conservative majority, defended the Supreme Court as an institution and said Americans should have faith in its ability to address probing problems with integrity.

Los Angeles Police Department detectives are asking for the public's help to find the hit-and-run driver whose Porsche Panamera allegedly struck and killed another driver earlier this summer, as the suspected driver raced down a South Los Angeles street at just under 100 mph, police said.

Emerson Noel Escobar Gonzalez, 25, was killed instantly, detectives said, when the white Porsche T-boned his car on July 5.

At a Thursday morning news conference, LAPD Detective Ryan Moreno identified the suspected driver as 24-year-old Cierra Danae Whitaker and announced $50,000 reward for information.

Today, State Department employee Michael Charles Schena was sentenced to 48 months in prison for attempting to sell out his country.

He was paid to use a covert communication device to take pictures of CLASSIFIED documents containing national defense information and then send them to individuals he believed worked for the Chinese government. Schena’s actions directly undermined U.S. national security and put Americans at risk. 
 
No amount of money is worth betraying your country, and the FBI will do EVERYTHING in our power to bring traitors like Schena to justice.
