Want to update those who know and those who don't, my son Kyle Florer is one of the deputy's who was shot in Walton last night. Kyle was shot three times, two of which were superficial wounds to the left side and one that went in a downward motion into his side lodging in his groin area, missing his heart by maybe an inch striking a vein.  They took him to surgery and decided that the best option was to not operate, leave the bullet and closely monitor him for internal bleeding..this is the safest route at this time.  Kyle is awake and still in shock right now.  We cannot thank everyone who helped save my son, the outpouring of love and support from past coworkers, andthe Boone County Sheriff's officers was overwhelming, nothing short of amazing.  Kyle's wife is probably one of the strongest women I ever met and I love her so...never a call I would ever want anyone else to get.. when I say God is always there, my son is living proof... Prayers to the other officer and his family....we are all so thankful... I will update when I can so please keep him and his wife and kids, as well as all of us in your prayers.

Livonia police released video of officers using the Grappler device to stop a stolen vehicle on I-96.

The 27-year-old driver from Brighton tried to escape, breaking the car’s rear axle, but was arrested along with two passengers.

Washington DC: An officer was injured after a driver reportedly "rammed" into a cruiser while running from an attempted traffic stop on Thursday night. 

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, an officer tried to initiate a stop after noticing stolen plates on a possibly stolen vehicle just after 8:15 p.m. in the 9500 block of Georgia Ave. 

MPD says the driver rammed the cruiser, striking the officer's leg, before driving away. 

The officer suffered minor injuries.

Chicago: A Jeep was rammed into a South Shore store early Thursday before burglars reportedly made off with Jordan shoes.

Community activist Patrick Gibbons identified the targeted business as the DTLR store at 71st and Jeffery.

In a statement, he said the suspects stole "a large number of Jordan shoes" during the burglary.

Gibbons also called the burglary part of "a troubling pattern of crimes targeting small businesses, particularly on the South and West Sides."

DHS is awarding $110 million to more than 600 faith-based organizations and nonprofits across the US. In the face of violent criminals and radical organizations intent on hurting American communities, the Trump Administration is helping houses of worship, schools and community centers to harden their defenses against attacks and protect themselves.

This money, administered through FEMA’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program, may be used on security enhancements, like cameras, warning and alert systems, gates and lighting, access control systems and training programs for staff.

Instead of using grant money to fund climate change initiatives and political pet projects, we are using this money to protect American communities— especially places where people gather in prayer.
