DEVELOPING: A fire broke out in Orange County amid thunderstorms and a heatwave.

TFC Ricks died on August 13, nearly four days after being struck by a vehicle while performing a traffic stop in Orangeburg County. He is the 52nd Highway Patrol trooper to lose his life while serving the state of South Carolina.

Connecticut: A Danbury police officer was injured while attempting to arrest a shooting suspect Friday night, police say.

Police say a person was shot in the neck around 6:30 p.m. near 2 Lake Ave.
They were taken to the hospital.

Once officers arrived on scene, they were quickly able to collect information on the suspect and found his vehicle in the area.
Police say the suspect engaged the officers in a pursuit.

Officers were able to stop the vehicle on I-84 West near the New York border. The suspect was then apprehended and a handgun was found in his vehicle.

An officer involved in the crash suffered minor injuries during the apprehension of the suspect, police say.

The FL Dept of Correction confirmed all of the officers involved have been dismissed, saying they do not tolerate such conduct toward inmates.
Hate to see this, but these officers need to be called out.
