Air travelers are facing chaos and huge lines at airports across the country after the U.S. Customs system failed. LAX Airport tweeted: 'CBP systems are experiencing an issue which appears to be impacting multiple airports including LAX. Officers are processing passengers manually so please check with your airline for the latest status of any flight impacts. More details as they become available.' JFK Airport told a customer on Twitter: 'Just to let you know Customs is experiencing a system shutdown nationwide. They are processing passengers manually until the system comes back online. Thanks for your patience.' It is not clear what caused the problem. Passengers at some airports are being processed manually. #losers
Attorneys for a federal death row inmate who was convicted of molesting and killing his two-year-old daughter have filed a motion arguing he should be spared execution due to intellectual disability.
Alfred Bourgeois, 55, is one of the five federal inmates whose execution was scheduled by Attorney General Bill Barr last month, after a 16-year lapse in federal executions. On Thursday, attorneys for Bourgeois filed for a stay of execution arguing that his IQ had been tested on two occasions at 70 and 75, and had been 'corrected under clinicallyโ€”accepted standards to 67 and 68.' Historically, IQ scores below 70 have been the prime factor for a diagnosis of intellectual disability, otherwise known as mental retardation.

NASCAR is investigating claims of homophobic comments said on a team's radio during a recent Truck Series race following an on-track dispute between two drivers. 'F***ing p***y,' someone allegedly said on driver Matt Crafton's team radio, according to Autoweek reporter Matt Weaver, who could not identify the person speaking. 'F***ing q****,' the voice continued. 'That f***er should have been crashed four laps ago. F***er is coming down here. Tired of these f***ing q****s... You should have wrecked him two laps ago.' NASCAR fans can typically listen to live radio transmissions during races and reporters regularly tweet out the dialogue. #facepalm
A Russian Air Force jet has been spotted flying in the skies above the US Midwest on what appears to be a surveillance mission of key strategic defense assets in the nation. The Tupolev Tu-154M was captured on flight radar flying across parts of the country including Chicago - the home of the US navy's largest training sites and Hawaii - home of the Hickam Air Force Base and the local Marine Corps. FlightRadar24 data shows the air force jet left the Russian Federation on August 11, before a stopover in Reykjavik, Iceland, that same day before passing through Vacaville, Northern California before it is believed to have then undertaken its surveillance missions over Hawaii on Wednesday. ๐Ÿ˜ณ #WTF?

Donald Trump was forgiven for fat-shaming one of his own fans at a raucous #MAGA rally after mistaking the supporter for a protester. Frank Dawson, 64, said 'everything's good, I love the guy!' after Trump blasted him from the podium in Manchester, New Hampshire, saying: 'That guy's got a serious weight problem. Go home, start exercising.' Trump had mistaken Dawson for a thin protester who was one of a group of three who waved anti-Trump banners before being escorted out. Trump left Dawson a voicemail. The retired U.S. Marshal said: 'He thanked me for helping him out.' โ˜บ๏ธ

A federal appeals court's ruling Friday will allow the Trump administration to begin rejecting asylum at some parts of the U.S.-Mexico border for migrants who arrived after transiting through a third country. The ruling from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals limited a lower court's order against President Donald Trump's policy to California and Arizona. U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar's July 24 order won't apply to New Mexico or Texas, the appeals court ruled. The two busiest areas for border crossings are in South Texas' Rio Grande Valley and the region around El Paso, Texas, which includes New Mexico. About 46,500 people in July crossed the U.S. border without permission in those two regions, according to the U.S. Border Patrol.

Hong Kong riot police have been deployed to chase down a group of pro-democracy protesters they say were assembling illegally after the end of a sanctioned protest march today. The protesters gathered outside a police station, shining laser pointers and throwing eggs at officers guarding the entrance. Riot police formed a line on a nearby street, thumping their batons on their shields as they started marching during the 11th weekend of protests. But by that time, most protesters had already melted away into Hong Kong's densely populated Mong Kok district, leaving officers to face the anger of local residents, who yelled for them to go home and accused them of being members of crime gangs. Earlier, over a thousand Hong Kong school teachers braved thunderstorms for a sanctioned protest. ๐Ÿ”ฅ
