Today, we mourn the loss of a true hero and brother in blue.

He served with the Wyandotte County, Kansas Sheriff's Department for nine years. He is survived by his wife.

His service, sacrifice, and dedication to his job and community will never be forgotten.

Kindly remember North Carolina State Trooper Houston Holcomb in your thoughts and prayers. He was involved in a serious accident on I-40 last night while on duty.🙏🏻

Authorities said Almanza refused to stop, initiating a pursuit. Another trooper was stationed in the median near mile marker 171 with emergency lights activated, preparing to assist in the pursuit.

As Almanza approached the area, he allegedly traveled off the left side of the road and intentionally struck the stationary patrol vehicle. The impact caused the patrol vehicle to overturn multiple times before coming to a stop upright.

Both the trooper and Almanza sustained serious injuries and were transported by Davie County EMS to a local hospital. Almanza remains hospitalized and the trooper is said to be facing a lengthy recovery process.

UPDATE: Injured Lorain police Officer Brent Payne was discharged from Cleveland's MetroHealth Medical Center on Saturday.

Payne was shot while responding to an ambush of fellow Lorain Officers Peter Gale and Phillip Wagner on Wednesday afternoon in the Colorado Avenue Industrial Park.

Please continue to pray for him as he recovers from home.🙏🏻

LAPD news: Yesterday, around 2:30 pm, two individuals came to LAPD Foothill Station located at 12760 Osborne Street in Pacoima and reported that they were cleaning at a recently deceased family member's home when they found what they believed were military ordnances.

Officers went to the individuals' car and found a plastic box with several military ordnances inside. The LAPD Bomb Squad responded and used a robot to take images of the items.

Because they were military devices, the LAPD collaborated with the United States Marine Corps' Camp Pendleton EOD unit to determine whether the items were stable enough to be moved to storage.

Once it was determined that it was safe to move the items, the LAPD Bomb Squad packaged them and moved them to a storage facility. The US military will collect the items at a later date.

Foxtrot Landing & Water Rescue

On July 26th, officers received a water rescue call at a pool. Foxtrot was patrolling in the area & landed. Flight Officer Smith exited the helicopter & immediately began CPR on the 25 y/o male, who was revived.
