Colorado: A suspect and Greeley police officer were both hurt on Monday after the officer said he accidentally shot his gun while arresting a man. Both sustained minor injuries from debris created when the gun fired.

The Greeley Police Department is reviewing the incident to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

On Monday, Greeley police officers were conducting an investigation near the intersection of 83rd Ave. and W. 20th St. When they went to take a suspect into custody, the Greeley Police Department said an officer assisting in the arrest "accidentally discharged his firearm."

"The police department did not release any further details regarding the officer, the suspect, or the circumstances of the arrest.

BREAKING: A Royal Canadian Mounted Police spokesperson warned Tuesday that a person suddenly embracing "traditional values" could be a sign they are becoming an extremist.

According to CTV news, Canadian federal police arrested and charged four Quebecers - two of whom appear to be active members of the military - who were allegedly involved in "ideologically motivated violent extremism."

LAPD NEWS: An OIS investigation is underway in the area of Hyde Park and Crenshaw in 77th Division.

Today, around 6:20 p.m., 77th uniformed Gang Enforcement Detail unit was south on Crenshaw and saw two men in a physical altercation on the west sidewalk, south of Hyde Park Bl. The suspect was armed with a firearm and fired at least one round.

The officers stopped and exited their vehicle. At that time; there was an Officer-Involved Shooting. The suspect was struck by gunfire and fell to the ground. He was pronounced deceased at scene by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The other person involved in the altercation was not injured and is being interviewed by detectives.  No officers were injured.

The firearm the suspect was armed with is at the scene and will be collected as evidence.

Officer Luis Mercado left the hospital after an armed robbery suspect shot him in the leg yesterday morning. Officer Mercado used his training to apply a tourniquet to his own leg moments after he returned fire. JFRD took him to the hospital where he spent a few hours receiving medical care before being sent home to continue recovering.

We appreciate all the well wishes and prayers for his recovery. Please continue to pray for him as he recovers from home.

“I’m so glad he’s able to go home to his family,” Sheriff Waters said outside the hospital. “That’s the biggest thing for me, and it’s so good to see his fellow officers come out to watch him as he leaves the hospital.”

We ask you continue to respect Officer Mercado’s and his family’s privacy at this time.

The suspect involved in the shooting did not survive.

North Carolina: A Columbus County Sheriff’s Office deputy was involved in a wreck on Chadbourn Highway Thursday afternoon.

CCSO spokesperson Jenna Jalving confirmed Thursday that a deputy was injured in the crash.
