Sir Kim Darroch, the United Kingdom's ambassador to the U.S., resigned Wednesday as his position in Washington became more and more untenable following a Donald Trump freeze-out. Trump said Monday that he would retaliate against Darroch by ignoring him completely, as punishment for harsh language about him in secret cables leaked to The Mail on Sunday. Hours later U.S. officials told news outlets including Bloomberg that Darroch had been struck from the guest list for the dinner that Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will host with Trump for the emir of Qatar.

A woman has been caught on camera dramatically throwing herself to the ground in an attempt to pull off a 'cash-for-crash' scam in east China. Footage of the bizarre incident last Thursday shows the wannabe scammer targeting an oncoming lorry on a road in Wuhu, Anhui province by chasing down the vehicle while carrying a bicycle.
