Melania Trump spoke to the press in the Oval Office on Wednesday - an unusual move from the first lady, who rarely speaks off the cuff. Her comments came when she welcomed Polish President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda to the White House. 'I'm looking forward to talking with Mrs. Duda about children, what they are facing in our country, what they are facing in Poland as we did the first time,' she said. The first lady also joined the president and members of his staff for an update on the administration's efforts to combat the opioid crisis. 'I always say love yourself more than you love drugs,' she advised.

A video filmed by Sky Holsey shows at least four police officers holding 24-year-old William Ewell at gunpoint after he was accused of robbing a gas station in Hawthorne, California, on Friday. Ewell can be seen kneeling on the sidewalk facing away from the cops with his hands above his head as he repeatedly tells them that he doesn't have a weapon. Though the man was a complete stranger to her, Holsey felt she had to intervene, having lost her boyfriend in a police shooting four years ago. Her video went viral on social media over the weekend as viewers expressed outrage at the number of cops holding Ewell at gunpoint and many credited Holsey with preventing them from using deadly force.
