Sergey Korovin, 38, made a 6ft snow ramp in Yaroslavl, Russia, so he could attempt a backflip on his $20,000 Lynx Xtreme 850 snowmobile on March 4. But as he tried to rotate he fell and the machine landed on top of him. Mr Korovin said he woke up in hospital with five pins sticking out of a broken wrist and a large set of stitches running down the centre of his arm. He also tore ligaments in his knee - which required surgery and pins. π #losers

Thanks to the movement of its Solar Dynamics Observatory combined with that of the moon in orbit, the lunar shadow appears to reverse its direction as the moon travels in front of the sun. The incredible phenomenon popped up in observations captured by SDO on March 6. The sun is currently experiencing a period of unusual 'quiet' as it approaches solar minimum; according to NASA, there were no visible sunspots in February at all. #science

The adorable white Pomeranian smiles as a groomer uses a pair of scissors to snip away its fur in Singapore. It turns into the perfect snowball during the pampering. The dog smiles broadly when the groomer steps back to admire his work. But it looks less sure when its ears are trimmed and imitates a human when it winces and braces for the blades. πβοΈπΆ

The Mach 8 missile was identified last month by Moscow's state-controlled TV as being Vladimir Putin's weapon of choice to wipe out a number of American cities in the event of nuclear war. Chilling computer generated footage shows the 6,000mph Zircon being launched from a war ship, dodging air defence missiles and slamming into an unidentified aircraft carrier. The clip was shown on state-controlled 1tv.ru ka but not credited to the Defence Ministry, though it is understood to have been compiled with input from knowledgeable Russian military experts. Deep secrecy has surrounded tests and designs of weapon, which Putin claims is unmatched by any Western missile. π±π₯π
