BREAKING! The suspect accused of shooting two Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies during an ambush in Compton has been arrested, authorities announced Wednesday. Deonte Lee Murray, 36, of Compton, was charged with two counts each of willful, deliberate…
Sheriff Alex Villanueva held a press conference to announce the arrest of the suspect who deliberately attempted to kill two deputies in an ambush-style shooting, while they sat in their patrol car. Sheriff Villanueva noted the cowardly act was followed with bystanders celebrating and cheering the despicable act. He relayed how he saw the worst in humanity when a crowd made its way to the hospital and chanted for the deputies to die while they fought for their lives. In juxtaposition, he saw the best of humanity when the entire Sheriff’s Department worked together to bring justice to the deputies. The outpouring of support from the community, the nation, both presidential candidates, people from all walks of life, including children, was a source of support, not only for the injured deputies, but for all law enforcement personnel. Vice President Mike Pence and second lady Karen Pence have tested negative for COVID-19, Press Secretary Devin O'Malley announced Friday morning, hours after President Trump, first lady Melania Trump and White House adviser Hope Hicks confirmed they'd tested positive. “As has been routine for months, Vice President Pence is tested for COVID-19 every day. This morning, Vice President Pence and the Second Lady tested negative for COVID-19,” Press Secretary Devin O’Malley tweeted. “Vice President Pence remains in good health and wishes the Trumps well in their recovery.” Trump announced early Friday that both he and the First Lady have tested positive for COVID-19, and will quarantine at the White House.
A bandit dressed head-to-toe in a chipmunk costume robbed a Louisiana pharmacy of prescription drugs at gunpoint, according to cops who are hunting for the suspect. During the totally nuts heist, the furry felon was caught on camera in a parking lot ordering a worker back into the Medicine Chest in Evangeline Parish on Sept. 19. While holding her at gunpoint, the rascally rodent demands that she fill a bag with narcotics then snatches her cellphone, according to cops and the footage. But when the worker told him she had pictures of her grandchildren on the phone, the thief proved he wasn’t a complete animal — and gave her back the sim card, police said. The costumed crook then high-tailed through a rear entrance with an unspecified amount of prescription meds. Anyone with information should contact the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-363-2161.
