t’s no trick. While holiday festivities the world over have been cancelled due to the coronavirus, there’s an uncanny treat in store this month: a full moon on the 1st and 31st, making Halloween’s a “blue” moon. October’s first full moon will rise tonight at 5:05 p.m. Eastern time. So-called the “harvest moon,” this lunar event is pegged to the full moon that occurs closest to the autumnal equinox, and was said to light the way for farmers forced to harvest late into the night, according to Farmers’ Almanac. Historically, the harvest moon would arrive in September, as it did in 2019 on Friday the 13th, but the tenth full moon of 2020 arrived later than usual, paving the way for a rare blue moon to occur on Halloween night, rising at 10:49 a.m. that day — which guarantees visibility across all times zones on the 31st.

TRENTON, N.J. – The Attorney General’s Office released a 911 audio recording and video recordings from officer body-worn cameras and a Taser camera related to the #shooting on August 21, 2020 in Asbury Park, N.J., in which a police officer fatally shot Hasani Best, 39, of Asbury Park. The shooting remains under investigation by the Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability. BREAKING! The suspect accused of shooting two Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies during an ambush in Compton has been arrested, authorities announced Wednesday. Deonte Lee Murray, 36, of Compton, was charged with two counts each of willful, deliberate…
Sheriff Alex Villanueva held a press conference to announce the arrest of the suspect who deliberately attempted to kill two deputies in an ambush-style shooting, while they sat in their patrol car. Sheriff Villanueva noted the cowardly act was followed with bystanders celebrating and cheering the despicable act. He relayed how he saw the worst in humanity when a crowd made its way to the hospital and chanted for the deputies to die while they fought for their lives. In juxtaposition, he saw the best of humanity when the entire Sheriff’s Department worked together to bring justice to the deputies. The outpouring of support from the community, the nation, both presidential candidates, people from all walks of life, including children, was a source of support, not only for the injured deputies, but for all law enforcement personnel.
