Philadelphia Police: On Monday, August 31 2020 at approximately 4:00 PM, the victim, a 27 year-old female, was walking with her baby in the 8000 block of Craig Street when she was approached by an unknown black male who attacked her attempting to sexually assault her before stealing her cell phone. The suspect then fled the area on foot and was last seen running north on Craig Street toward Welsh Road. Suspect Description: Black male, 20 years-of-age, 5'9", thin build, wearing a dark colored sweat suit. If you see this suspect do not approach, contact 911 immediately. San Bernardino police released body camera footage showing two officers as they fired 15 shots at a man carrying a fake handgun. Anthony Armenta, 21, died at a hospital following the June 13 incident. Two officers had originally responded to a report of a man with a gun just before 8:30 p.m. outside the Exxon station at the corner of Date Street and Del Rosa Avenue, according to the Police Department. “Somebody got a gun,” the caller states in dispatch audio included in Friday’s release. “He’s waving it outside, and the lady is scared that’s working in there.” The responding officers spotted a man matching the caller’s description holding what looked to them like a black handgun. More than 200 people were rescued by helicopters overnight into early Sunday after they got trapped by the raging Creek Fire near Mammoth Pool Reservoir northeast of Fresno, California. The people got trapped at the reservoir at the Sierra National Forest as the rapid-spreading wildfire cut off the only escape route and they were advised to shelter in place, meaning jump into the water to avoid the flames. On Sunday Blackhawk helicopters and at least one Chinook flew to rescue the people surrounded by the blaze and took them to the National Guard base at the Fresno Yosemite International Airport. A total of 207 people were airlifted from the Mammoth Pool area to Fresno, Forest Service spokesman Daniel Tune said to KSEE. At least 20 people were injured in the blaze, some of them critically. Two people stayed behind, refusing to be evacuated.

A Leon County grand jury decided not to indict any Tallahassee Police Department officers involved in three separate fatal #shootings of suspects — bringing an end to high drama that surrounded their deliberations all week. Grand jurors found that police officers acted lawfully and were justified in their use of lethal force in the shootings of Mychael Johnson, Tony McDade and Wilbon Woodard. On Friday, the panel issued reports on the shootings while the city released an edited assortment of evidence, dash cam and body camera video of them. TPD Chief Lawrence Revell thanked the grand jury in a news release for its service. Minutes after the report and video were released, protest organizers sent out a group text calling for a protest on Saturday. (Read the Full Story.)

The Tallahassee Police Department has provided an update and has identified the victim in Tuesday’s fatal officer-involved #shooting on North Monroe Street. TPD has identified the victim as 69-year-old Wilbon Woodard. Officials say officers were called to the Circle K in the 2600 block of North Monroe Street to investigate an altercation. Authorities say the altercation was determined to have occurred in the Super China Buffet parking lot, where the involved officer encountered an armed suspect. Officials say the, "Confrontation ultimately led to the officer having to discharge his firearm," but did not specify what happened prior to the shooting.
