On May 20, 2020, at 2:27 PM, the Hayward Police Department Special Duty Unit was on the lookout for 23-year-old, Stoney Ramirez who was a person of interest in the May 1st homicide of a homeless Hayward man. Ramirez was also on searchable felony probation for an assault that resulted in great bodily injury. Officers had reason to believe Ramirez might be at a residence on Wildwood Street and when they arrived, they found Ramirez parked in the driveway in a white vehicle later determined to be stolen. MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. - A 10-year-old Florida girl was beginning her first day of online school when her mother was shot to death by her ex-boyfriend at their home. Donald Williams, 27, shot and killed 32-year-old Maribel Rosado Morales in front of her four children and their two cousins at her Indiantown home, Martin County Sheriff William Snyder told reporters at a press conference. The shooting unfolded during an argument after Williams entered the home around 8 a.m. and confronted Rosado Morales about an online video, Snyder said. Williams shot her multiple times and fled the home. The 10-year-old girl's teacher at Warfield Elementary School witnessed the incident while setting up the class ZOOM call, Snyder said. No children were injured during the shooting. Williams fled the scene on a bicycle before boarding a bus. The bus driver was suspicious and called 911, WPTV reported. A SWAT team in the area responded and took Williams into custody.

Police confirm three deaths after train derails near Stonehaven

A statement from British Transport Police confirmed three people have died after a train derailed near Stonehaven. One of the victims was the driver of the ScotRail service, the operator confirmed. Six other people were taken to hospital with minor injuries after the train came off the tracks in an area hit by heavy flooding. Police believe everyone onboard the train is accounted for, but warned that a full search of the area would take some time

OTTUMWA, Iowa — The Ottumwa Police Department said a Mahaska County Sheriff's Deputy has died after being accidentally shot in the torso Tuesday morning. Police responded at 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday to the 700 block of Edwards Drive for the report of someone being accidentally shot with a firearm. Brian Rainey, 35, of rural Mahaska County, was identified as the victim. Authorities said he had been shot in the torso. The wound was fatal. Rainey was a deputy sheriff for the Mahaska County Sheriff's Office, and was off-duty at the time of the incident. The Ottumwa Police Department said their investigation into the incident supported the report that the discharge of the firearm was accidental. The identity of the individual who shot the firearm was not released. In a statement, the Mahaska County Sheriff's Office said funeral arrangements are pending with the Reese Funeral Home in Ottumwa, according to the statement. #RIP
