NASA's Perseverance mission launched today and will collect at least 20 rock samples from the surface of Mars. But engineers have already set their eyes on how these samples, which will be stored on the Martian surface, will be returned to Earth. The European Space Agency has revealed that Airbus-France will be in charge of building the Earth Return Orbiter (ERO) satellite, which will retrieve the samples. It is believed that they will be delivered back to Earth in 2031.

The Phoenix Police Department released video includes body cam footage from an officer-involved #shooting that happened in our community on May 29, 2020. Officers responded to a 911 call about a man manipulating the slide of a gun outside a liquor store. As police tracked down the man, he fired the weapon toward them while trying to enter a home. TRENTON, New Jersey -- Three Trenton teens will be charged with attempted murder and related firearms charges for shooting at police officers during an early Wednesday vehicle chase that went through two towns, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office alleged. The pursuit ended in two collisions, injuring a total of six officers. Three remained hospitalized Wednesday evening, and one, Officer Kevin Starkey, is in critical condition. 🙏🏼💙 Also injured in the crashes were the three suspects: Zaire Butler, 19, who suffered internal injuries and remains hospitalized in critical condition; Nazere Crews, 18, who broke his femur and also remains hospitalized; and a 16-year-old male who had a broken wrist, and was treated and released to police custody, the office said.

An Officer responded to a 911 call regarding a man with a knife threatening people at a grocery store. The officer tried to get the man to drop the knife, but after negotiating with him, he charged at the officer and she fired her weapon. (Read the Full Story.)

Brazil — Dozens of criminals blew up a bank branch and exchanged gunfire with police officers in a mid-sized city of Brazil's Sao Paulo state, officials said Thursday. According to state authorities, around 30 armed men participated in the overnight attack in the city of Botucatu, located 150 miles from the state capital, then made their getaway. It wasn't immediately clear if the robbery was successful. Sao Paulo’s Public Security Secretariat said two officers and one suspect were wounded, and police apprehended rifles, vehicles, cash and ammunition. The suspect died after reaching the hospital, and police are searching the region for the others, according to the secretariat. Television network Globo reported the assailants were heavily armed, wore bulletproof vests and attacked multiple bank branches in the city. The network also said some residents were taken hostage during the attacks and that the suspects shot up a police station and set vehicles afire before escaping.
