The huge television, which depending on the model could sell for up to $450, sat precariously in the cart as the woman shopped. Quite the bold attempt she made - trying to steal a TV that's as big, if not bigger than she is.
A line of #NYPD officers dressed in riot gear cleared out the last of the Occupy City Hall protesters from their month-long encampment in lower Manhattan early Wednesday. The officers moved in at 3.40am, pushing around 70 remaining occupants – said to be a mixture of activists and homeless – north on Centre Street to Foley Square, where the crowd began to disperse. Police said they gave the occupants a 10 minute warning before the Defund the Police activists 'left voluntarily'. In total, seven people were taken into custody during the operation but charges are still pending. One officer was injured after being struck by a brick, police said. The park outside City Hall will now be on lockdown for weeks as clean-up crews move in to clear debris and graffiti from nearby buildings and statues.
FROSTPROOF, Fla. - Just a couple of days after announcing a $30,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those involved in killing friends men in Frostproof, the Polk County Sheriff's Office says they found the people responsible, FOX 35 Orlando reported. On Wednesday morning, Sheriff Grady Judd announced three people were arrested in the Friday night murders of Damion Tillman, 23, Keven Springfield, 30, and Brandon Rollins. The suspects were identified as 26-year-old Tony “TJ” Wiggins, his girlfriend 27-year-old Mary Whittemore, and his brother, 21-year-old Robert Wiggins. Judd said Wiggins, alone, has 230 felony charges within his arrest history. Investigators said the victims were beaten and shot when they met up to go fishing around 10 p.m. on Lake Streety.

Costa Rican police find over two tons of cocaine in the Caribbean, the Teller reported. On the Caribbean coast, Costa Rican police found 83 containers containing more than two tons of cocaine. A shipment of the prohibited substance was found after the National Naval Forces of Colombia reported to the Costa Rican authorities about the possible presence of drug traffickers at sea. As a result of the special operation, the coast guard detained four people suspected of drug trafficking.
The fourth named storm of the Central Pacific hurricane season strengthened into a hurricane on Wednesday and may impact Hawaii by the weekend. The U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami said that Hurricane Douglas is packing maximum sustained winds of 75 mph and is moving west at 14 mph. The storm is about 1,785 miles east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii, and is forecast to turn west-northwest and increase speed by late Wednesday. The storm has been continuously strengthening as a tropical storm, with maximum sustained winds increasing Wednesday morning to 75 mph, with higher gusts. "Additional strengthening is expected during the next day or two," the NHC said. There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect, but the forecast cone from the hurricane center shows the storm could approach the Hawaiian islands by the second half of this weekend.

#WANTED! Police in Dallas have released images of a suspect wanted for stealing supplies intended for a coronavirus testing site, delaying its opening. The unidentified man, who has a large star tattoo on his neck, is accused of raiding the Salvation Army's Pleasant Grove Corps Community Center around July 13. “Overnight, individuals broke into the storage location for the site and stole all of the equipment and supplies used to conduct testing,” the Parkland Health and Hospital System said in a press release earlier this month, according to The Dallas Morning News. A spokesperson for the hospital network told the newspaper that thousands of dollars in items were stolen, ranging from an encrypted laptop to personal protective equipment for health workers. Following the burglary, the testing site opened one day later than planned.

The Phoenix Police Department has released a Critical Incident Briefing video from an officer-involved #shooting in the area of Watson Road in the City of Buckeye. The April 28, 2020, incident which involved 32-year-old Robert Musser. Phoenix Police officers from the Central City Precinct's Neighborhood Enforcement Team were conducting follow-up on multiple felony crimes that had occurred two weeks prior. Musser was accused of misconduct involving weapons, aggravated assault, and felony flight from police. (For more information.)
