Santa Ana police investigating a child molestation case shot and killed the suspect during a struggle for a handgun at an apartment complex in Fountain Valley. Officers had gone to the apartment in the 10300 block of Hacienda Avenue about 10:50 p.m. Monday to contact a man being sought in connection with a molestation case, according to Santa Ana Police Department Cpl. Anthony Bertagna. His mother opened the door and let police inside. At that point, the man tried to flee. Officers chased the suspect and noticed he was carrying a gun, according to the corporal. There was apparently a struggle for the weapon at some point, and that was when police opened fire, striking the man at least once. After officers rendered aid on him at the scene, the man was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange. He was later pronounced dead. #shooting
Two Oklahoma police officers were arrested on second-degree murder charges Wednesday for the 2019 death of a 28-year-old man who was allegedly tased over 50 times. The officers, from the Wilson Police Department, were responding to a disorderly conduct situation when the incident occurred, The Daily Ardmoreite reported. Carter County Court records show that Jared Lakey died on the morning of July 6, 2019 -- two days after he was allegedly tased more than 50 times by officers Joshua Taylor, 25, and Brandon Dingman, 34. The documents also show Lakey's cause of death to have been “complications of myocardial infarction (clinical) in the setting of cardiomegaly and critical coronary atherosclerosis and law enforcement use of electrical weapon and restraint.” Taylor and Dingman got to the scene around midnight on July 4, 2019. Investigators said Lakey would not cooperate peacefully with commands from the officers, so they began using their tasers, according to Oklahoma's News 4.

A Phoenix police commander was killed and two other officers were injured Sunday night in a shooting on the city's north side during a domestic violence call. Cmdr. Greg Carnicle was killed in the incident in the 23800 block of North 40th Drive, near Pinnacle Peak Road, the department announced on Twitter. Sgt. Mercedes Fortune said at a news conference that the incident began about 7 p.m. when officers arrived for calls reporting a dispute between roommates, ABC affiliate KNXV reported. Fortune said that upon the officers' arrival, the suspect was not cooperating with officers and shot them.

Santa Ana Police release footage of fatal hit & run accident and arrest of Joel Giovanni Andalon. During their investigation of this collision, Santa Ana Police Department’s Collision Investigation Unit was able to identify the driver of the suspect vehicle as Joel Giovanni Andalon. On Thursday, July 2, 2020 at approximately 12:15 PM, Andalon was taken into custody with assistance from detectives from our Career Criminal Unit, Homicide Section, and Major Enforcement Team. Andalon was booked into the Santa Ana Jail on charges of Gross Vehicular Manslaughter and Felony Hit and Run. Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact Investigator Cpl. Russian Imperor Vladimir Putin on Friday joked a rainbow LGBT pride flag hung from the US embassy in Moscow, suggesting it reflected on the orientation of the diplomats. During a televised video conference, a lawmaker told Putin that the US embassy had hung a rainbow flag on its facade for the first time to celebrate Pride month in June. 'Who works in this building?' Putin asked the speaker, Senator Alexei Pushkov, to be told 'Americans.' 'Let them celebrate. They've shown a certain something about the people who work there,' he added with a smile.

This is the moment a 72-year-old camper advanced to within 10ft of a bison in what proved a costly mistake as she was gored and flung 15ft in the air. Footage of the encounter in Yellowstone National Park was taken by another family at the campsite, who watched in horror as the creature attacked the woman who was trying to take a photo. The California woman was left unconscious on the grass and was subsequently airlifted to hospital, but the bison did not damage any major organs. Park rangers warned that visitors should keep 75ft away from the creatures because they are 'wild animals' that feel 'threatened' if they are approached.

Officers were forced to retreat after they were showered with glass as they tried to break up 'an unlicensed music event' in Havelock Close, White City. Video showed the police retreating while a group of young men pelted them with a variety of objects. Seven police officers are injured.
