Report: Ex-officer who killed Rayshard Brooks also involved in 2015 shooting of black man.
Two people were killed and seven others were wounded in a shooting in North Carolina's largest city, police said, while five others were hit by vehicles afterward. The shooting happened around midnight at an “impromptu block party" that was a continuation of Juneteenth celebrations, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Deputy Chief Johnny Jennings told reporters early Monday. Police responding to a call about a pedestrian hit found hundreds of people in the streets, Jennings said. After emergency services arrived, several shots were fired, scattering the crowd. The five people were hit by vehicles while running away, Jennings said. Jennings said there was evidence of multiple shooters, but no one was in custody as of Monday morning. The shooting took place on Beatties Ford Road in northern Charlotte.

Confederate flags were displayed outside Talladega Motor Speedway on Sunday. Cars and pickup trucks drove along nearby roads flying the Confederate flag and paraded past the entrance in Lincoln, Alabama, located in the heart of the South. A small plane flew overhead was captured carrying a banner with the flag and the words “Defund NASCAR.” Roughly 5,000 fans were allowed in to watch the race at Talladega that was postponed until Monday. There weren't any reports of Confederate flags being confiscated or taken down at the track, and NASCAR hasn't said exactly how it plans to stop the display on track property. #LOL

#LVMPD Assistant Sheriff Chris Jones provided details on the June 1, 2020 incident that occurred on Las Vegas Boulevard in Downtown Las Vegas. The heavily armed subject, Jorge Gomez, ignored officer warnings to disperse following the conclusion of a protest -- his threatening posture prompted an LVMPD officer to fire beanbag rounds at the subject, whereupon he ran and later raised one of his weapons at additional responding officers. (This incident is unrelated to the #shooting that took place moments earlier several miles away in which a protestor shot and critically wounded an LVMPD officer,) (Read the Full Story.)

Massachusetts — Video from a Hingham Police Department dashcam shows the fiery wreckage of two motorcycles that crashed after one of them was cut off by a car on Route 3A in front of the bathing beach. The Hingham Firefighters Union said that the road was closed for several hours. After the crash, one of the motorcycles caught on fire. One rider had serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The other rider involved in that crash had minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital. A witness said a car cut in front of one motorcycle before the crash without making contact. In the dash cam clip, the burning motorcycles sit in the middle of the road. The cruiser pulls behind the crash and two officers run toward the scene before a fire truck pulls into view.

An American man was among the three victims stabbed to death in a park in the English town of Reading that is being treated as a terror attack, the U.S. ambassador to Britain confirmed Monday. Ambassador Woody Johnson offered his “deepest condolences'' to the families of those killed in the attack on June 20. A 25-year-old man who is believed to be the lone attacker is in custody but officials said the motive for the carnage was unclear. Three people were killed and three others seriously wounded in the stabbing attack Saturday evening in Forbury Gardens park in Reading, a town of 200,000 people 40 miles west of London. The Philadelphia Inquirer named the American victim as Joe Ritchie-Bennett, a friend of James Furlong, a history teacher named by his school as one of the victims. Britain’s official terrorism threat level remains at “substantial” after the attack.
