Five members of a Florida family on their way to a funeral -- including two young children -- were killed when their plane crashed in north Georgia, authorities said. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said the Piper 31T twin-engine turboprop aircraft went down six miles northeast of Eatonton. "The family was flying from Williston, FL to Newcastle, IN to attend a funeral," the sheriff's office said. The Federal Aviation Administration told FOX5 the aircraft crashed into an area of dense woods around 3:13 p.m. The plane reportedly encountered a line of thunderstorms as it passed over Putnam County, Georgia, but it was not immediately known if those storms were a factor in the crash. The pilot and owner of the aircraft was identified by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office as Larry Ray Pruitt, 67, of Morriston, Fla. Also killed were Shawn Charles Lamont, 41, and his wife, Jody Rae Lamont, and their children, Jayce, 6, and Alice, 4. The family was from Gainesville. All five were found dead at the scene.

Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King on Friday claimed that the cities experiencing the worst police brutality are run by Democrats. King denounced “generic” calls telling those protesting police brutality in the wake of George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis to respond at the ballot box, saying voters need to be “very specific.” “Democrats, from top to bottom, are running the cities with the worst police brutality in America right now,” King wrote on Twitter. “We voted for them,” he said.

A Brooklyn man who delivered a threat to New Yorkers during a live interview with Fox News on Saturday has been charged with multiple offenses, including making terroristic threats, police said. During the live interview Saturday afternoon, a man who identified himself as “Ace Burns” threatened to burn down the Diamond District if New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio did not meet with protesters and give the youth “some direction.” "But if they don't, then [the] next stop is the Diamond District," he said, referring to a block on Manhattan's 47th Street known for jewelry shops. "And gasoline, thanks to Trump, is awfully cheap. So, we're giving them a chance right now to do the right thing." Burns, 34, whose real name is Israel Burns, has been charged with one count each of making terroristic threats, aggravated harassment and false reporting, NYPD said. He is now at central booking and has not been released.

Gun shop owners in West Palm Beach, Fla., say the city's State of Local Emergency is forcing them to turn away customers. West Palm declared the emergency last Sunday amid George Floyd protests. A State of Local Emergency prohibits the sale of firearms and alcohol. Stores cannot intentionally display ammunition or guns. During a State of Local Emergency, it is also illegal to possess a firearm in a public place. “Basically this is saying, 'don’t bring a gun to a peaceful protest,'” said West Palm Beach Chief Assistant State Attorney Adrienne Ellis on Friday, according to the Palm Beach Post. Alex Shkop, the owner of Guns and Range Training Center, told the paper gun buyers can visit other gun shops in other Palm Beach County municipalities that haven’t declared a State of Local Emergency.
