Meanwhile, in CA a few thousand people gathered Saturday morning at the heart of Simi Valley, joining the chorus of demonstrations against police brutality in the region and nation. The group of peaceful protesters stood on the sidewalks at all four intersections of Sycamore Drive and Cochran Street beginning at about 10 a.m. before many began marching on the sidewalk down Cochran toward City Hall. A heavy police presence blanketed the city, site of the 1992 verdicts in the Rodney King beating case, which set off widespread rioting. At least two exits on Hwy 118 were closed and police could be seen on nearby streets though not directly near demonstrators.

There are at least 6,000 protesters marching throughout Washington D.C. Saturday, according to a tweet from the Washington D.C. Police Traffic tracker. Temperatures in the 90s have not deterred thousands from descending on the nation's capital to protest police brutality and the death of George Floyd. The police department city has closed numerous streets for the "First Amendment demonstrations."

A county sheriff says two members of the “boogaloo” extremist group have been charged with inciting a riot at a May 30 George Floyd protest in a South Carolina city. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the charges had been brought against Kevin Ackley, 22, and Joshua Barnard, 24, according to reports. The protest took place in Columbia, the state capital. Ackley was charged with instigating a riot by throwing a water bottle at law enforcement officers, WIS-TV reported. His arrest was announced Friday. Barnard was also charged with breaking into a motor vehicle, looting and larceny in addition to the inciting a riot charge, the station reported. His arrest was announced Thursday. Authorities say the boogaloos are right-wing extremists bent on starting a civil war. They often wear Hawaiian shirts. Deputies said Ackley and Barnard were in possession of Hawaiian shirts when they were arrested. Ackley was also in possession of a boogaloo flag, they said.

Warning, graphic content: An NYPD officer was stabbed in NYC in what is described as a possible terrorist attack. The NYPD has released a video of what they're describing as a "planned assassination attempt" Wednesday on one of their officers who was on anti-looting patrol in Brooklyn. "Earlier this week, 1 of our officers was stabbed in the neck without warning while protecting NYers," the NYPD tweeted on Saturday. "This was not a chance encounter—it was a planned assassination attempt on an #NYPD police officer. It's only by sheer luck that this didn't have a drastically different outcome."

A GOP congressional candidate is accusing Facebook of "censorship" after the social media giant took down a campaign video that shows her holding an AR-15 rifle and warning Antifa to "stay the hell out of northwest Georgia." Marjorie Greene, a businesswoman running in Georgia's 14th District, posted the ad on Facebook Tuesday. By Thursday, Facebook told her campaign the video was coming down because it violated company policies against promoting the use of firearms. The video is still running on Twitter, and Greene has bought air time to run the ad on broadcast and cable TV in advance of the Tuesday primary. "Facebook lets Antifa organize terrorist attacks on America and allows videos of innocent Americans being brutally attacked, but pulls my post down," she told Fox News. "America is a country of law and order -- not anarchy. Telling Antifa thugs to stay out of northwest Georgia is not a violation of Facebook."
