Police in Chile broke up a fresh round of anti-government protests in one of Santiagoยดs central squares late on Monday, arresting 14 and citing rules against congregations intended to ward off the spread of coronavirus, Reuters reported. Protests over deep-rooted inequality erupted last October over a hike in metro fares, devastating the economy and leading to thousands of arrests and injuries. But the fast-spreading coronavirus, and the measures put in place to combat it, had all but silenced the masses that once turned out on a near nightly basis. Police did not specify how many people had gathered in the square. Health authorities have banned gatherings of more than 50 people nationwide to thwart the spread of coronavirus. The country remains under curfew each evening. Restaurants, bars, malls and movie theaters have all been shuttered.

Tornado in Florida crosses highway, lifts portable building off tractor-trailer before smashing it to the ground. A tornado swept across a major interstate highway in Florida as severe weather slammed the state, sending a construction trailer and portable building soaring. The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Jacksonville said the tornado touched down around 9:40 a.m. near the Ocala weigh station on Interstate 75 in Marion County, then raced northeast for 11 miles. As the tornado crossed Interstate 75, winds lifted a construction trailer, tossing a 36-foot portable building over the northbound side of the highway. The Florida Highway Patrol's Gainesville station said the building crashed onto the shoulder.

For decades, China has waged an espionage war with the United States, exploiting America's comparatively open society and free-market economy to steal critical information, trade secrets and technology tools. But as the coronavirus, officially termed COVID-19, continues to assault the globe โ Beijing is upping its spy game on U.S. soil with a focus on manipulating the narrative, officials and experts say. The primary focus now, according to several current and former intelligence officials interviewed by Fox News, is attempting to control the disease narrative inside the U.S. and cast the blame game anywhere but Beijing. One U.S. defense official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, underscored that the Chinese focus inside the U.S. remains centered on technology theft, military readiness and minimizing the blowback.
